Hellobee Boards

We spent a lot on time boating this summer and I love seeing her swim in the river with her Daddy. I did not grow up with a boat so I'm glad they can share this love for water from a young age together. I just feel so relaxed out there and love making yummy food.

We had a really great trip to the cape this year. One night in particular we grabbed dinner and ate on the beach. It was low tide and everyone played in the shallow water after. It was great.

Tent camping at the Volcano National Park on the Big Island. LO said it was better than Disney World! We just had a great time exploring in nature and experiencing that adventurous, satisfied feeling. Can't wait to go back. The campground/hotel sets everything up and breaks everything down for us so that was wonderful!

We went on a couple nice hikes on days that were cooler than usual this summer. I was surprised that my 3 year old did great and asked to go back again!

We've also enjoyed some really nice meals on restaurant patios. My 8 month old doesn't usually do well at restaurants but he loves being outside so it's a win win for everyone.

DD is really getting into books this summer. I've loved our low key mornings together just reading to her on my lap while I soak in her baby smell.

Literally tearing up writing this!

We've had a hectic summer and summer isn't over yet! My kids don't start school until September, so we still have a few very busy weeks ahead. We go on vacation next week and I'm really looking forward to it. I think that will be the fun part of summer.

@lamariniere: she actually doesn't! Most kids like her do though. Her donors went through IVF but were never able to conceive. They have an 8 year old daughter they adopted as an infant. She and DD became instant friends. It was so sweet.

We went to the beach in June with my side of the family. She loved the extra time playing with her cousins and grandparents.

On July 4, we set up a splash pad, kiddie pool, and bubble machine in our front yard to make our own homemade water park. She loved that!

We had a giant family reunion at a church (my cousin-in-law is the pastor) on the shores of Lake Huron. Both DD's were occupied the whole time and there was a huge yard/field and a playground. It was amazing not feeling like I had to be constantly on the watch. Surrounded by family is awesome. We had probably 60-ish people there and they all knew my girls because they were the littlest ones there.

We also spent a few hours swimming in Lake Huron that were pretty awesome. Fresh water, sand beach, happy kids.

We went tent camping and my 5 year old says it was the best trip ever! We went hiking, boating, swimming. Even went into the little city nearby to visit the fish hatchery and museum. Even though it was 100 degrees during the day we still had a lot of fun.

@josina: what kind of camper do you have? After this last trip we are considering a travel trailer (we have a truck to pull something, we just don't know what we want yet!).

Swimming! Love seeing her have so much fun and getting more confident. And going to a bunch of birthday parties have been fun!
