Personally, I could see how maybe at some point in an adopted child's life they wished they had a family resemblance with their parents/siblings. But I don't see it being some huge issue. As far as culture goes, I think it's important to teach children about all different cultures. It's also good to know where you come from, ie an African baby being adopted in America or a Chinese baby being adopted in Canada...I can see how teaching that child extensively about their biological family's culture could be important (& exciting!) for them. But white parents adopting an African-American baby don't have different cultures in my opinion. That's like saying parents from New York that adopting a baby from Texas need to say y'all, drink sweet tea & listen to country music. It's absurd.

I know a couple that adopted 8 children of a different race. The parents also have two biological children. One of the adopted children resents the parents because they aren't the same race. It is really heartbreaking for everyone involved.
