Well.. "ruin" may be a little exaggerated. Today J turns 2 (yay!!!), and we planned a nice, simple party for him at our apartment this afternoon with my parents, siblings and their families, my great aunt and one of my coworkers - so only 12 total including everyone.

On Thursday we had a huge blizzard, I had to call into work that night and DH was sent home four hours early. Even though we only got about 1-1.5' of snow, there were winds of 45-50 mph that created drifts as high as 4-5'.

My parents live very rurally, and their driveway is long, gravel and half of it is steep uphill. Toward the top of the hill, my dad said the snow is waist deep on him - a 6' man! The man who normally plows got his truck STUCK in the snow yesterday. So my parents are completely snowed in. The driveway is too deep/long for them to walk to the top for us to pick them up.

They hired someone to come plow this morning, but my dad isn't hopeful. I am hoping and praying they can get out!

My dad asked me to postpone, but I'm waiting to see if they can get out. They make up half the party (four people) and they are Cobi's favorite people - I really wouldn't feel right having the party without them, but I would hate to cancel.

This is just a vent. (sigh). I hate winter and I totally hate MN.
