Have you guys been following this story? For me the most disturbing part of it is how they used someone else photos to represent the "dead" girl and that person wasnt even aware of it.

@Mrsbells: I spent about a half hour yesterday reading all the articles I could about this. I bet they didn't think the story would get as big as it did. I definitely think Te'o was in on it--he wasn't duped!

Weren't there articles about how they met originally after a football game and had actually met in person? Maybe I'm wrong (someone please correct me if I am, the articles were a long read so maybe facts got jumbled in my head) but I thought I read that and that's where my issue comes in, that he never corrected those.
I mean, maybe he just didn't want to deal with the false stories in news articles but I don't see why someone he knew wouldn't have corrected that.

Regardless of how in on it he was, he (and his father) lied to the press on more than one occasion if this person really did not exist.
If this is all true, imagine if he had won the Heisman.

I'm suspect about it all mostly because I always have such a hard time believing these catfish stories. I DVR MTV's Catfish the TV show and I'm always flabergasted at how deep people get into these online relationships without any real contact with someone else. It apparently happens all the time.
