I can't wait! I'm not sure if I'll have to wait until tomorrow night though.

I'm going to try really hard to stay up for it. A friend of mine thinks Maggie is the goner. I think it's Daryl.
Who do you all think it is?
wonderful pea / 17279 posts
@pregnantbee: @Bao: I really hope not. Glenn brings humanity to the show!
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
I'm afraid it's Glenn. The preview made me think a right hand man..

I can't wait! My husband got me hooked on it after the first season. We will watch it live tonight, then usually DVR it, so I have to stay off FB and stay away from certain co-workers to avoid spoilers! Lol
I've heard it's not Daryl, supposedly he's been seen filming new episodes. I think it might be Glenn, but I really hope not

What about Carl?
And is the person actually dead, or just really, really beaten up? I haven't seen the previews but I'm all caught up.

I'm not surprised by anything that's happened this episode. I am annoyed by all the commercials though!

Omfg. I may finally be done w this show. So f'in violent. And depressing. Why oh why do I watch this???
pomelo / 5791 posts
@ChitownRo: I retract my previous statement about not being surprised this episode. That scene with Rick and Carl was ALMOST enough for me to stop watching the show. If the scene had come to fruition, so to speak, I wouldn't have been able to take it anymore. And I don't even like Carl.
honeydew / 7303 posts
@ValentineMommy: that's exactly how I felt too. It was just too much! I was so relieved when it didn't happen.
clementine / 948 posts
@ValentineMommy: yes x 1000. That Carl scene was just too much - I was having a visceral reaction
pomelo / 5791 posts
@yellowbird: @ChitownRo: totally! A line was about to be crossed that I've never felt so strongly about on a tv show. So relieved when it didn't happen!
pomelo / 5573 posts
@ChitownRo: I didn't even watch yet but I read what happened and yeah, I'm done. I liked when they were fighting zombies but I've had enough of them fighting these sadistic human super-villains. It's just too grim and not how I want to spend the small amounts of free time I have.
honeydew / 7504 posts
I predicted the first one, but the 2nd one gutted me. And then the dream scene at the end when they were all at the table together...? Ugh. GUTTED.
Agree, the Carl scene was horrific, but honestly I was much more affected when Carol killed Libby and when one of The Claimers was trying to assault Carl.

I was disgusted by the episode. I was so relieved to be "wrong" and then later, not so relieved to be "right." I just..I barely watched and only listened. Way too much violence and gore (and that's saying something, seriously).
I was beyond pissed with the Carl thing and had that happened I'd have been done with the show. I still cannot believe they did what they did to the 2nd person. I just cannot. I may watch another episode to see if I can get back into it, but I feel like they went too far.
pomelo / 5791 posts
@sorrycharlie: It was pretty awful. I wasn't upset by the "second" thing that happened, but I was uncharacteristically unable to handle the amount of violence/gore specifically pertaining to that incident. Maybe it's because I'm pregnant? I don't know...but it was a lot. I'm not squeamish, by any standards, but I just could not watch that scene.
pomelo / 5573 posts
@ValentineMommy: My friend who normally isn't bothered by gore and violence said she literally felt sick to her stomach, so it's not just you. She told me this morning she doesn't think she can watch anymore because it has gotten out of control with the disgustingness.

Agree with all of you - might be pregnancy, but god, that was awful. I'm so glad the Carl thing stopped where it did - apparently, the rest of that scene actually happened in the comic books (which is maybe why I don't read comic books.) One of my FB friends said that she threw up after the second Lucille scene.
On a related note, my Fitbit thought I was exercising because my heart was racing for so long, ha.
pomelo / 5791 posts
@raspberries: In the comic, it actually happens to Rick, not Carl. I would have been able to handle that much better. At any rate, the governor pulls the trigger on that action, though, not Negan, so it's unlikely it's going to happen on the series. In regards to your Fitbit, that's crazy!!! But I can totally see why!! My heart was definitely racing!

@ValentineMommy: We turned off the TV at the Rick and Carl scene. Just couldn't watch. I realize I was upset about it even overnight. My husband read spoilers and once we knew what would happen, we were able to watch the rest.

We're watching it now. I can't take it. I had to leave. I'm officially done watching this show.
I can't watch it anymore.
pomegranate / 3355 posts
@erinbaderin: you took the words right out of my mouth! I much much preferred it when they were fighting the walkers NOT other sadistic army's!!! I hope they get back to that but I am afraid now that they've introduced negan they won't.
pear / 1955 posts
@ValentineMommy: Oh, whew, I feel a little better knowing it happened to Rick in the comics. I thought for sure that was what was going to happen in the scene between Rick and Negan in the camper, but then it didn't and it came to the Carl scene, I thought maybe I'd mixed things up. Still, SO intense!
bananas / 9227 posts
@Ajsmommy: This is the reason why I just can't watch anymore. Zombies, I liked, but this I can't take. Plus, I can't imagine it getting better from here. I don't want to see Negan's face. I especially want to see what will happen to Daryl after that. It's just too much ...

We just watched it tonight. Afterwards, we were like why did we watch that?? DH's not sure he wants to keep watching any more. We were watching on the computer with headphones (newborn sleeping in our room) and I had to take them off and close my eyes during the Carl scene. It was so upsetting. I felt like as soon as that hatchet came out someone was going to lose an appendage.
wonderful pea / 17279 posts
So I couldn't stay up last night to watch. Instead I caught up with a blow by blow spoiler recap and saw two pics of Glenn. I am so glad I did not fight sleep Sunday and watch that mess.
This reminds me too much of the Governor. I thought this season was going to be clever, but it's just gory. I will wait until the end of the season and just watch a marathon.
pear / 1737 posts
Woah. We just caught up because we hadn't seen last season and watched the first episode tonight. I predicted Abraham, but was slapped in the face by Glenn. I feel this episode was a new level of gore....and I just don't remember previous seasons and governor stuff very well. Wow. I really enjoyed season 6 and this sort of was a let down and has made me not as interested to keep going for some reason.
