What thermometer do you use for your toddler? Like specific links, if possible.
We had an ear one that didn't seem to work at all. Then I got an exergen temporal (forehead) one that is highly recommended, but I feel like I never trust the reading. So a nurse showed me how to do the armpit temp and I bought a "quick read" regular thermometer at CVS- and it takes forever, like a minute which is a long time for a toddler to stay still.
She has had a million ear infections so I feel like I'm also taking her temp then not trusting what it says. So, what thermometer do you have and like? Or is this just user error?
the head thermometer comes with an insert describing very specifically how to do it and how to troubleshoot...? I press firmly to the skin, click and hold the button, drag it across the forehead to the temple to the right, release the button, then check the temp. Then I wait about 5-10 seconds and repeat on the other side (to the left). It is important to hold the button only when it is touching skin, otherwise it will read the air temp.
