I feel like I need a pair of Rothys. Are they true to size ? I hate ordering shoes online.

I got a Dyson Airwrap last year and it is worth every single penny. I can go from wet hair to styled in less than 10 minutes. I am such an idiot with hair tools but this is so fast and easy even I can do it.

Snowsuits, snow boots, and winter jackets. We live outside Buffalo and I’ve come to accept that laying down a lot of money.

Shoes in general.

I don’t have the Dyson Airwrap, but my MIL is a hairdresser, so I’ve had a salon quality hair dryer and straightener for 10+ years and will never go back. They last forever (my old ones used to die after a couple years), dry and straighten so much faster, and work so much better. I’ll never go back!

@LemonJack: is there a brand of hair dryer you'd recommend? I'm very clumsy about blow drying my hair!

@LemonJack: @MoonMoon: oh wow. I've been eyeing that for literally 2 years. They have had it for $50 for prime day this year and last and I still couldn't justify it. Maybe next prime day... lol

I bought two refurbed Dyson stick vacuums, I love them so much. One for upstairs and one for downstairs. They’re so light that my daughter (nearly 6) can vacuum reasonably well with it by herself. I have a degenerative joint disease, so not having to haul around a huge vacuum cleaner and constantly bend down to yank on the cord is game changing.

The Apple Watch is definitely worth it to me. You can get a S4 for a good used or new price since the S5 just came out (they’re the same except the S5 has a compass and an always on display). Not only does it track my sleep, wake me up during my lightest sleep phase, track my workouts, and let me disconnect from my phone... But it also serves as an important safety measure. You can use it to do an EKG regularly, and if it detects an abnormal heart rhythm it’ll alert you. If you fall, it will send you an alert to ask if you’re okay, and if you don’t respond in one minute, it will call EMS and text your emergency contacts. This is huge for me, as I stay home with the kids alone, and there have been a few times I’ve fainted or fallen in the past. In most places, it doesn’t cost anything for EMS to come out to your house, as long as you don’t take a ride in the ambulance (you can always decline). I feel a lot safer knowing that the fall protection is there.

If anyone can recommend their winter coat, please do so! I’m on the hunt for a long (covers my butt) coat that doesn’t make me look like a marshmallow. My budget is around $150.

@Hypatia: I bought this coat from Amazon a few years ago and looooove it. I live in WI and winters can get pretty brutal. I love how warm this one is without looking frumpy.

@Mommy Finger: I thought Dh was insane when we went and looked at them. But I will 100% admit that now that we've had it for 3 years that it is totally worth every penny. The covers come off so easy and are washable (+++++ with kids)… and you can even buy new covers in the future and basically have a brand new couch!! We have it as a huge lounger when it's us but when we have company we change it to a longggggggg sectional and it's amazing

@beckysue: I have the V6. It can vacuum on the regular suction for 20 minutes (and I think 7 minutes on the super suction?). The newer models, of course, have better batteries that can last longer. Personally, I don’t vacuum for more than 20 minutes at a time, anyway—today I’ll vacuum the living and dining room, tomorrow the kitchen, etc.

I bought my refurbed V6 from eBay. Amazon sometimes has good deals on them too, especially around Black Friday.

@LCTBQE: I invested in a vitamix in 2007, and it's still going strong, with frequent use. Just as good as the day I bought it.... At some point I had the blade replaced for free under warranty.

I mostly use it for green smoothies. And gazpacho. Before I had a kid with a nut and sesame allergy, I would use it to make homemade nut butters and hummus (yum!)

@codeitall: yeah! I got a pair of leather Mary Janes that I got three or four years ago. They're still going strong. So are the leather sandals I bought seven years ago. All the cheap shoes I used to buy lasted a year, tops.

@LCTBQE: it killed me a little, but the 20% bed bath and beyond coupon works on it, and we used credit card points... And still spent $230 ish?

@foodiebee: A Tripp Trapp is one of the few baby purchases I would buy again and again. Our first used it for nearly five years and would probably still be using it if we had not had a second!

Dyson question for the group (sorry if this is dumb/obvious ?):
Why is everyone so obsessed with the stick vac? Why not just a regular vacuum? (In Dyson, I guess it's the Ball series)
