Avocado toast. I mean, it's good, but I don't understand all the hype.

Hygge. But DH and I are introverts so we already hang out in our cozy home all the time. I just don't get it.
Also, Instagram stories/Snapchat. Why is this a thing? I think I'm too old.

@gotkimchi: I should have specified for adults. Like a Starbucks drink.

Snap chat. In fact I’m pretty sure that’s not even cool anymore and I still never got it.
clementine / 874 posts
Avocado/Almond/Bacon everything, pathetic beard/facial hair, the keto diet, cake smashes, raw milk, essential oils, bath bombs, subscription boxes for pets.
I guess I don't like a lot of stuff I think is expensive or wasteful haha Maybe this is why I suck at throwing birthday parties for my kids...

@Mamatimes3: hahaha that's hilarious! They're so annoying and yet so many people are obssessed with them!
Let's see...snapchat, man bun, man braid- pretty much all hipster guy hairstyles, skin tight hipster guy jeans/jeggings- how are guys jeans as tight as my leggings? I guess they have no junk

@catgirl: Thisssssssss. This forever. I'm not a big fan of MLMs in general, but Lularoe make me extra cranky.

Lularoe. Going gluten-free. Paying for cable. Snapchat. Midriff-baring clothing and high-waisted clothing.

CrossFit- they’re all buff and whatnot now, but that’s all going to turn to flab when this trend runs its course. 🤷♀️

Agree to many things listed above.
Mine are: Ridiculous facial hair (I'm not a fan of it in general but you can barely see some mens' faces at this point!), Paleo (just eat a piece of bread once in a while! It won't kill you!), Shopkins (What do they do?), Slime (it's like the 21st century version of Gak, but less cool).

delivery meal kits like blue apron, etc. it seems like people and bloggers are really into them but they seem expensive and no easier than cooking my normal meals.
pomegranate / 3658 posts
@Alexandra603: Agree, I'm so confused by the popularity of meal kits. If I'm paying that much money for dinner someone else better cook it. Also I like to pick what I'm going to eat.

@ChiCalGoBee: Gah! Shopkins. My BFF's girls are a little older than mine and LOOOOVVVVEEE them. I asked BFF how you play with them, as I was completely flummoxed, and she said that apparently you spend a lot of time lining them up.
apricot / 302 posts
@shabang: Ditto! lol So odd. I don't understand why they are so popular. They aren't even flattering.

Essential Oils. I'm so glad it cured your depression/flu/cold/skin tag/whatever, but it seems a little flim-flammy to me.
Rainbow colored hair (both multi-colored hair and like, blue or green hair). It IS pretty, but all I can think of is the maintenance/cost. Doesn't it fade basically immediately?
Stranger Things. I just don't get it. It wasn't that interesting when I tried to watch it.

@Mrs Lavender: @shabang: i have a short sleeved shirt like this. I hated the very thought of them but my hubby picked it so I tried it on and love it. I still don't get them though!

Whole 30 (never understood the appeal and it was recently ranked one of the worst diets), essential oils, pretty much anything that is sold via MLM, Will Ferrell.

@Alexandra603: @PawPrints: Oh man we do HelloFresh and love it. But honestly the biggest pain for me about meal planning in the mental labor of figuring out what to make and keeping it interesting and yummy. I know I'm over paying, but if left to my own devices, we eat the same meals all.the.time. With two kids and two full time working parents we just don't have the time or energy to research new recipes so it's worth it to us.

LulaRoe and essential oils and all other MLMs are big ones to me. The products themselves are bad, but it's the advertising tactics and deceit that make me even more angry. LLR is actually facing at least one class action lawsuit because of their deceptive tactics.
nectarine / 2951 posts
The Kardashians, leggings for adults, Uggs, Supreme products (my students are obsessed), people’s self-obsession on Instagram, Lularoe, Soy/almond milk

@DesertDreams88: What!! High-waisted pants and skirt help hide the mommy pouch and doesn't create the muffin-top! I LIVE for high-waisted everything!!
