Reality TV,distressed denim, flip flops in winter, tight leggings, cold brew coffee, weird flavored ice cream trying to be hip and cool.

Fidget spinners.
Eating Tide Pods !?! or any of those other 'games' teens play.

@josina: What?! People eat tide pods? I've never heard of this WTF. Does it get them high?
grapefruit / 4361 posts
@Adira: I gueeessss it's more high waisted short-shorts and high-waisted jeans with cropped tops.... I'm more thinking of my middle schoolers But I myself do prefer a normal-waisted bottom and a top with a looser hem area.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@DesertDreams88: Oh, haha, get that! I wear high-waisted pants and skirts, but always with a long top, so you wouldn't be able to tell.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@josina: OMG, YES!! The Tide Pod Challenge is disgusting and dangerous! People are so dumb...
pomegranate / 3350 posts
All those fad diets, especially Paleo.
American Idol and similar annoying shows. Why does it need to come back?
And American Housewife. I HATE that the whole entire show is fat bashing and about negative body image and the main character is SO whiny and annoying. This should be #1 on my list. I HATE it so much,
All this new hype over Tonya Harding. Who cares!
Donald Trump.

I just had to look up the tide pod thing and I am so horrified.
Lavender flavored anything, Snapchat, crop top + high wasted pants.

yes essential oils!! I don't really get how they work and how they evidently help with everything.

Cold shoulder tops.
Those weird strappy bras that you’re supposed to show off by wearing loose or lowcut tops?
Jumpsuits/rompers
Trendy high maintenance hipster clothing for kids.
Uber/Lyft
Starbucks - like the every single day thing.
Shiplap.
Being obnoxious about your diet or workout plan. Like I follow my own, but I never talk about it the way Crossfitters or Paleo people do.

@Autumnmama79: I don't think so! I don't get it at all just like the other 'challenges' they come up with:

@gingerbebe: I have a cold shoulder cardigan top, it looks beautiful, but i still couldn't find even one day to wear it (weather inappropriate and haven't gone bra shopping) HAHHAHA
For me I don't get:
- FIDGET SPINNER
- LIVE stories on facebook/instagram
- Snapchat and Twitter
- Star Wars (haha I know)
- Disney World. I mean I don't get how it is soooooo expensive, so stressful to plan and so stressful when you are actually there, but somehow everybody still want to go. Multiple times. (I am saying that because I supposedly need to plan for our first trip in 10 months and i am in denial)
- Anything Pokemon
- Bachelor / Bachelorette. How can it still be going strong, for 22 years, with that repetitive content....? (and somehow I am still watching it)
- Logan Paul and how he has 1.5M YouTube followers. Honestly, I only found out about him a few days ago as he got in trouble with some content he put up that I don't want to get into. I watched a few of his things. OMG. what crap and what kind of pathetic person is this, and how can 1.5 M of people want to watch that ?!
wonderful kiwi / 23653 posts
Whole 30 - My friend and her husband are doing it and even though I love them I'm just like whyyyy!
Cold shoulder tops - I was tempted to get one here & there but I just don't understand when I'm supposed to wear it haha!
Off shoulder tops - Just completely impractical for a mom lol
Essential oils - I like and use them, but I don't sell any, I didn't buy from MLM companies, and I don't talk about it day and night or see it as a holy grail thing!
LLR - I do wear them! I buy from two friends (from HB actually!) to support them, regardless of what's going on with the company

@irene: Lol to Bachelor/ette. I'm a diehard fan, they better not ever take it off air! Also now equally addicted to Bachelor in Paradise.

@gingerbebe: yaaaaasssssss! to cold-shoulder tops! They're what you wear to an audition to be a real housewife.
smocking and ruffle butts for little girls

@irene: omg yes to Disney! We were thinking about a day trip while on vacation and decided it was too much work for vacation! The stress of trying to figure our one effing day at Disney made DH and I decide no big Disney trip ever. We will go to Hawaii or something instead!

Lol! Love this thread. I guess it seems I don't much get or like anything that is popular! Haaaa!
Except kale. I love toasted kale. And lavendar ice cream, to me is to die for! Sorry, @JCCovi:

@Bibliolove: I totally get what you mean, but I am laughing about ice cream trying to be cool

I literally already thought tide pods should be illegal... I knew a little kid at my work who ate one and had a breathing tube because of damage to his trachea! Like a 1.5yo. How hard is it to measure your laundry soap? Ugh

High end restaurants that have a set tasting menu that you don’t get to choose what to have, and the food always includes some sort of organ meat which squicks me out. I don’t want to pay $150+ per person and not get to choose! And can’t you just cook regular meats and ingredients in cool ways? Tongue ravioli?! We have done a couple of these restaurants at my job and everyone else was raving....I stopped at McDonald’s on the way home

@helloperidot: I agree with you on the social media. I don’t get it!

@mrsbubbletea: Yes! And they look like candy, so it's extra tempting for little kids.

I agree with the unicorn and rainbow thing! Sometimes, sure, and the food thing was cute when it was just cake, but once we got to the point of the sbux unicorn frappe or whatever it was, it was just too much!!
all the diets and crossfit, but admittedly I haven't tried them and I don't have anything against them, I just am not into it..like I just had to google whole 30 even though so many people have mentioned doing it, I have never cared enough to figure it out.
those weird hair ties that look like a phone cord
Using Honest company diapers because of the prints. They are so expensive.
Dockatot but I would try it if I were desperate
@Bibliolove: flip flops in winter is a thing? I usually only do that when I'm too lazy to go upstairs and grab socks!! And I am totally hoping nobody notices although I'm sure they do.

Disney. We live a couple hours away and are about to go for the third time this year just to feel like we got our miney’s worth from the weekday passes we bought a year ago. It was a similar deal to getting a four day ticket so that’s why we got them, but I just haven’t been that impressed. I think the hotels are overpriced and underwhelming, and so is the food. Also I just haven’t felt that “magical” cast experience. Like I went to order a drink at a walk up refreshment stand and had to interrupt a personal conversation between the workers to do so, the bathrooms aren’t very clean etc. Not that we haven’t had fun but I don’t get the obsession.

Things I don’t get: the bachelor (never actually seen itthough...) and actually most reality TV
Vlogging (I find most YT things so boring? I can’t get through them)
Hot weather - hate it, I’d have it be winter all year long and love it
Disney world - actually Disney in general. I like some of their movies (I admit we like Moana a lot in our house...) but the people who are obsessed with it are baffling to me. I admit I like Star Wars though so clearly some people are baffled by me

I had to come back to this thread... I'm planning a Unicorn bday party for DD, and all over Pinterest are desserts called 'unicorn poop'. Who wants to eat something called poop?!

@josina: LOL! I just bought Unicorn Poop (marshmallow packs) for DD's unicorn party

@gingerbebe: Hahahaha SHIPLAP! So good.
Uber/Lyft is amazing if you drink alcohol and want to be responsible. And if you live somewhere where parking is awful. But if not, I get why you wouldn't care!
For me, Dockatot. They're so expensive and I have to doubt that they are a safe sleep surface. WHY? Maybe I'm just wrong?
persimmon / 1005 posts
@mrsjd: YES to the dockatot. My sister is obsessed with hers and all I see is a giant pillow that’s a smothering hazard.

In honor of the super bowl this weekend...Justin Timberlake. I get that he is talented, I just don’t like his music and don’t find him funny. (Love *nysnc though :silly:)

I gotta say Disneyworld. I’m in no hurry to sweat and wait in line and pay a ton of money with my young kids. I don’t get it.
LulaRoe. It looks frumpy to me.
Cookie dough ice cream. The texture is all wrong.

@Iced Tea: DW: Fast Pass, planning and off-peak will avoid all of this!! I totally was of your mindset until 7 years ago as that was my experience as a teen visiting DL. However, I've completely changed my tune and it is soooooo much more fun as an adult, calling the shots with the kids in mind. I went from a hater to a lover!
