Baby girl is quickly soothed by me walking up and down our stairs. So I did that for a while and started to cramp. Then I found a clot. Yikes, guess I can't do that yet.

I hope you're okay, @Andrea and I hope everyone on hellobee reads this. :-\

@mediagirl: for sure. I know people want to not feel frumpy and all but they don't tell you to wait for no reason.

Hope everything is OK. I had some for a couple weeks post partum but they told me no worries unless they were bigger than a golf ball.

oh no!!! that happened to my sister when she started vacuuming at 3 weeks - she started bleeding after she'd stopped!!
keep resting mama!

Oh I hope you're okay! Taking it easy after birth is no joke, I vacuumed the house maybe 2 weeks after my c-section and started having bright red clots and my incision started bleeding. Scary stuff

Good PSA--- women of hellobee, take it easy. Time for hubby to do the stairs? lol!!
blogger / watermelon / 14218 posts
uh oh. I was passing clots for weeks as well... there's just no way you can take it easy when you have a toddler around as well! but nothing bigger than a golf ball. I agree, time for daddy to take on stair duty!

@littlebug: yep, they say that so non-chalantly in the hospital. Didn't read that in any books hunh? lol!! Oh the joys of Post Partum.

They also told me not to worry unless the clots were bigger than a golf ball. But you need to rest!!! Taking care of you is just as important as taking care of baby K!

I opened a 1/2" part of my incision carrying laundry up the stairs at 2 weeks pp ... Lesson learned and now I am stuck with a puckered bit of my incision.

Ahhh! I moved around too much after my C-section and one end of my incision got infected!
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
@Maysprout: they told me the same. I would say I only had a ping pong ball and it was just that one. I was afraid to move for the rest of the night! Luckily it was night time and DD1 was going to bed.
@Mrs. Pen: @cyndistar3: i would have never considered vacuuming to be exercise. good to know!!
@MsMini: @autumnlove: yikes!!

Eek! Take it easy, HBers! Definitely not worth a risk. Even though you may feel fine after birth, and there are no obvious outside evidences, there's still a big gaping wound inside your body that needs to heal.

@Andrea: I also vacuumed at 3 weeks and bled a lot! I'd stopped bleeding 2 weeks pp so it scared me. Like @Weagle: said, when I called the doctor the nurse said that where the placenta was is a big scab that needs time to heal. Eck!!
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
@sorrycharlie: oh really, I had no idea. I was wondering what exactly is still healing....

Yes, my doctor specifically told me not to vacuum for 6 weeks due to risk of rupturing my c-section incision. I'm surprised it's not in the discharge paperwork from the hospital! The pulling on the vacuum really works ab muscles, which can then rupture your incision. Crazy stuff!
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
@Andrea: yeah! I was confused too. Nurse said "NO AB STUFF!"
GOLD / wonderful coffee bean / 18478 posts
@sorrycharlie: they should be more specific! Instead they kept saying nothing up your vagina!!! Ok, that one I get.
pineapple / 12053 posts
@Andrea: yeah, nothing is going up my vagina for a good long time!! Ha. Thanks for the reminder to take it easy. I'm so ready to get R home that I probably wouldn't listen to my body. Hope you can rest.

@birdofafeather: just took a quick cat nap! When do you go home?
pineapple / 12053 posts
@Andrea: should be today! The nurse said her bili numbers are down so now we just have to wait for the ped to come and discharge her and then my OB has to come back to discharge me. Unfortunately, my OB is at another hospital with laboring women, so my discharge may take til late afternoon.

Yikes! Take it easy!
I got the golf ball talk too.
Didn't know about the vacuum either until my husband told me about it. Haha I wasn't allowed to vacuum during pregnancy.
hostess / watermelon / 14932 posts
@Andrea: lmao! they said that to me too. I was like, trust me..that thought did not even CROSS MY MIND.
