I've done the thai chicken basil and pad see ew. The whole family loves it, too. Very close or identical to take out! Having a really heavy cast iron wok helps though.

Detroit style pizza is usually cooked in cast iron square or rectangular pans for a crispier crust and is supposed to use a white Midwestern brick cheese in lieu or in combination with mozzarella cheese. The cheese usually goes all the way to the edges and you get that crispy cheesy edge thing. And the sauce is usually ladled on top of the cheese, again, for that chewy crispy cheese texture.
I married a Michigander, so I had to learn this stuff.

@gingerbebe: thanks! For a native New Yorker to want to try a new kind of pizza, he must have read something really good about it! There is a place in a suburb here that supposedly makes it really good, so he's been wanting to try it for a few weeks (but only seems to remember during rush hour....)

@bushelandapeck: I didn't love the stroganoff - it was fine but I wanted it to be creamier, maybe? It probably didn't help that after the 6 hours of cooking it sat on warm for another 6. I think it might have been better with stewing beef instead of ground beef. It also required a lot of prep for a crockpot meal!
pomelo / 5720 posts
@erinbaderin: That's the one thing I don't always love about her meals-they take quite a bit of time/prep sometimes! Thanks for the feedback on the stroganoff! I was going to have to use something to replace the dairy so I probably won't bother with this one now.
