Has anybody done a time capsule for their LO's first birthday? I am thinking of doing one instead of gifts that guests can bring that happened within the last year. Magazines, maybe a receipt or two to show how much stuff cost, books, etc. I was wondering if HB had any other ideas to include as examples to tell guests? We're going to include his coming home outfit, a key onesie with his middle name and some other personal trinkets. Thank you!

What about photos of your home and places you frequent? Articles/photos of current tech devices, movie stubs, newspapers, list of best sellers, money with the current year, board games or other hobby items that your family enjoys.
I think it would be fun to have little cards set out for people to write predictions on both for your lo and the future in general.

Super cute idea! I like how labels change over time, different fonts become fashionable and such, you could include a label or wrapper from LO's favorite packaged foods or candy.

One of the HB mamas did this and her FIL bought a Playboy for the time capsule.

We did this but all I asked guests to do was to fill in a piece of paper I prepared at the party, with a message for LO, their memories of her and their hopes for her future.
We did all the rest.

Love this idea! I think we're going to do like @travelgirl1 and ask guests to fill in a note of well wishes/predictions and we'll supply everything else. I feel bad asking guests to bring anything out of the ordinary to a party -- I'm still on the fence about even mentioning no gifts on the invite.
