We got engaged while we were in the process of house hunting. We closed on our first home about 6 weeks post-engagement. We then did a gut renovation of our new home while wedding planning...and I was also looking for a new school to teach at. It was an *insane* time, but somehow it all worked out! We've since moved states, so it's fun to think back on that crazy first-time home buying experience!

We looked while engaged and bought it 6 weeks before the wedding. We furnished it and I stayed in it for 3 weeks before our wedding (on and off, because I went to school out of town). Dh came home to it directly after our wedding.

We started looking after we were married but weren't in a rush; when we got pregnant we started actively trying to buy. We didn't find anything until after LO was born
I didn't ever really think we would buy a house, it wasn't a priority, but now that we have one I LOVE it. It's not even the biggest, best, or dreamiest house, but it's ours. I love knowing this is where we will raise our family and if all goes well, we will grow old here (it's our forever home)
