My dd was naughty while I was feeding her brother and got ink all over her carpet. My bad for letting her have a pen unsupervised -.- anyway 
I tried cleaning it and made it worse I think.
Any ideas on how to get it out?
Or should I just give up and be prepared to lose our deposit?

Hairspray!! I got permanent marker out of a pillow pet using hairspray.

Call a carpet company! My dog ate my carpet when we were renting, and since the building was newish, they were able to bring in a piece and cut out the bad spot and patch it. It cost us $50 for a spot a little smaller than yours. Probably a lot cheaper than your deposit!

@chopsuey119: Yup! Spray it on, leave 30 seconds or so and then wipe off with a wet/damp cloth.

Second the recommendation for hairspray. It's the alcohol that gets ink out. Rubbing alcohol works as well.

@hergreenapples: Yup i was going to say-- it's the alcohol in the hairspray that does it. I've done that on clothes that I got ink on and it usually works, though not perfectly. Good enough to save your deposit though

@MrsTiz: I tried hairspray and got alcohol too. It got half of the color out.. Gonna give it some more time and then douse it with more alcohol. -.-
If it doesn't work I'm gonna contact a carpet company!

Once I had some black ink spots in our carpet (dogs got to some pens) and what worked for us to get out the ink was to spray WD40 on the ink and blot it out - had to repeat a few times then washed the area with a mixture of detergent and water - worked like a charm!
