I voted party. They are only little for so long and they always have so much fun at their parties.

I think it's a great idea for you to celebrate as a family, if you're looking to save money.

Why not have a party? I'd go for it!

We are personally skipping the 2nd birthday party, just b/c we threw a huge 1st bday bash and I'd like to wait until she's old enough to ask for a party before I go nuts planning another But I think if you want to, you totally should!! A zoo bday party sounds like so much fun!!

We don't do "friend" parties until age 4 - so I say have a little party at home with just your family - she will enjoy it just the same!

No party, but day at the zoo with all of you dressed in Daniel the Tiger gear and Daniel the Tiger cake waiting for her when she gets home.

I was in the same place this fall. I decided to do a party and while it was fun, I wish we had done something smaller. (We did it at a play gym, paid for many kids that didn't show up.. should have just done it at a restaurant with games or something).
Until he has friends of his own, I'm going to try to remind myself not to go overboard. Try.

I'll be 5 months pregnant also when my son turns 2 and was thinking no party. But now it's getting close (Feb 1) and I decided last night to do a low-key space-themed party with just family and close friends. We do a weekly Sunday family dinner anyway so what's a few more people?

But really at 2 all they care about is singing the birthday song and eating cake, right? Nice & simple.

I'm planning on throwing birthday parties every year. Small ones sometimes, but always a party. I don't think I'll ever regret memory-making opportunities.

G wants to party with his buddy(hopefully no puking next time they party)! Seriously though, so what's best for your family. If that's a small 'party' just the 3 of you, then so be it!

Do you really need the money? I voted she won't know the difference, since it is a little late, but I think a party is completely doable if you don't need the money for something else. 5 months pregnant is one of the most comfortable times in pregnancy for most people...I think. Unless you still have MS or you are having a rough pregnancy.

We had a party for 1, but nothing huge for 2 and 3. Each time there was cake and presents, but not a thing with invited guests. Maybe next year, we'll see.
