Okay, my son is 2 years old and I live in a very small town. In order to have things I want, I have to make them happen. So I am thinking of starting a fitness class for 18m - 3 year olds. I think I have a place to hold it I just need to figure out what I want to do. The plan is a parent involved class where parents are the helping hands.
So, if you have done any toddler classes (swimming, gymnastics, dance, gymboree, etc) what did you like? What didn't you like?
My current plan is:
2 min focus/skill work (such as freeze, forward rolls, animal walks, balancing, jumping)
3 min Warm-up to a song (such as hokey pokey, wheels on the bus)
3 min Activity (such as catching scarves, sharing bean bags, body parts, etc.)
4 min Obstacle course (with a theme like backwards, over/under, around, etc)
2 min Separation Time (activity for the kids teacher led with parents stepping away).
3 min Ending Game (Duck Duck Goose, Cookie Monster, Red Light/Green Light)
What do you think? What would you like to see? What am I missing?
