My son was always in the 99th percentile for height and he was ALWAYS a size bigger. So at 12 months, he wore 24 months. Except for fleece footed rompers. We have to go 2 sizes on those cause those puppies shrink!

LO is 13 months old and has always been in the 95-98th% for height too. She's wearing 18-24 and some 2T stuff now. I'm pretty sure she'll stay this size for a while..? I try not to buy too far in advance, but I would probably go with 3T if I were you. You can always fold and temporarily hem pants if they're too long.

My son is 16 months and wears 24 months/2T in one piece things and tops but can wear as small as 12-18 months for pants because he has a skinny waist, no butt and short legs. All of his length is in his torso, which is common for infants and toddlers.

I always look for pants with the adjustable waist, the ones with the elastic and buttons on the inside, or elastic waist. I try not to buy too far ahead because stuff is always going on sale.

Once DS hit 1 yr, he slowed down in growing. Some random spurts, but for the most part he has always been in "his size" clothes.

DD was wearing 12m stuff until she was about 18m; much of her 18m stuff is still too big in the waist but just right in the length (she's 90th for height and we just made 40% for weight at 2y check-up). However, I think with girls we have the advantage because as her 12m stuff still fit in the waist but was starting to get short we just called them crop pants and no one knew the difference; can't really do the same with boys.

Also, what is the difference between 24m and 2T?
