My 23 month has had a chronic dry nighttime cough for what feels like months. It's been off and on and started when she had a cold. When she had a cold it was phlegmy but after the cold it was not. It's happened before and stopped.
Wondering if maybe it's a seasonal allergy?
Anyone else's LO suffer from a chronic, dry, nighttime cough?
Any solutions besides medication? It's not keeping her up at night so I'm not terribly worried.

Do you think she has a sinus infection? My DD didn't have a cough, but she had eye pain for a month before it took three doctors to figure out she had a sinus infection after a simple cold. Maybe M has post nasal drip going on from sinus infection..

R has been lately. Only at night and she is fine during the day, except for a clear runny nose (teething?). She didn't cough last night, and she wasn't outside due to rain. So I think it is allergies. The yellow haze (pollen) has started over the city.

@T-Mom: Hm Good point. I'm prone to sinus infections.
@lavender: yeah, she has a cool mist humidifier that runs nightly. I'm also going to start running a air purifier in her room during the day to see if it helps.

My LO has had a dry cough for a month - it keeps her (and us) up half the night! Anyway, yesterday, the doctor said it might be asthma. She has a horrible wheeze. They're trying her on oral medication and if that doesn't help we will need an inhaler for her. I hope your LO doesn't have this but I thought I would share.

Ts coughs after his colds hang out for a long time. Maybe a month?

The humidifier could be part of the problem...try turning it off and just using an air purifier.

LO has had a cough for awhile too. She had a cold a few weeks ago and that cough is still holding on. It seems worse when she is overtired. We run a humidifier and it seems to help.
