My 3 y/o son has a fine motor skill delay - he has a lot of difficulty with pulling his pants/underwear/pull ups on and off, as well as with dressing in general. Needless to say it's a big hindrance to building his bathroom independence.
I'm looking for suggestion of pants that are easy to pull on and off. I mostly buy from carters, osh kosh, and H&M but I'm totally willing to look elsewhere if it will make this easier for him. TIA!

We like the shorts from Target - they have a comfort waist band that is easy to maneuver. And basketball-style athletic shorts are easy because the material is thin.

@magnolia: target has great sweatpants for toddlers that are easy to get on and off. They arent the skinny style that are hard to get off

We also use @Iced Tea: idea. We have joggers sized up from Target and Children's place. He is finally able to go to the bathroom alone (he’s 3 and has been potty trained since right before 2!).

Garanimal sweatpants from Walmart. They are just basic, loose cotton sweats with elastic at waist and ankle, but they are SO easy.

Target for us too! My guy is fussy about pants and gets frustrated real easy if there's buttons, zippers, or if the waist band is just too tight to bother with. We buy both pants and shorts from Target that make it super easy and stress free for him.

I actually found some at JCP that DS loves. He's 3 too and constantly has to pull up his pants as he's cavorting around in them, but refuses to wear anything but elastic waistbands.

Target has an adaptive line for children with special needs; I wonder if their pants would be easier to get on/off more than "regular" ones.

Old navy jersey pull-on pants. Stretchy t shirt material so they are super easy. We love them so much I bought them in every color and size in case they every discontinue. They are one of their basics though, so I’m sure they’ll be around for a while. Every time a size sells out they restock.

Cat&Jack sweatpants at Target; we also like pants and shorts from Jumping Beans brand at Kohl's - they have the softest, stretchiest waistbands of any pants I've tried. My 2.5 yo can pull them down and up pretty well - he refuses to go on the potty, but that's a different issue!

I like drawstring with a wide waistband, I have had great luck at Carters, Osh Kosh and Old Navy, particularly jogger style pants.

. @snowjewelz: I had no idea about targets accessibility clothes, that’s so cool. Shopping in store at target is somewhat of a headache but I’m going so I can hopefully find something that works for him!

I like fitted sweatpants and joggers. They have been the easiest for both my kids and what I used when potty training and wanting to give them independence. I also like the shorts from target that have an elastic waistband. Basically anything with and elastic waistband.
