Does buying up a size make sense?
Do you have a brand you prefer?
M is firmly in 2T now and I don't want her to outgrow it before the Fall.

FWIW, I'm the kind of shopper who always buys one size up, especially for something like a coat or jacket that I hope can last at least two seasons.

I pretty much buy all outerwear for the kids up a size and roll up the sleeves. Especially since the weather is usually very warm. I got a great Osh Kosh raincoat at Costco in size 4T when my DD was 3, and she can still wear it at age 5 (but rarely does).

Our Meme is a size 2 now, but one of her doting uncles bought her a lovely Patagonia rain jacket. I asked him to get size 3 so it would last the summer and fall, and with some luck, next spring (she has always been a bit on the small size).
HOWEVER I will NOT be buying another winter coat "a bit big". That was a disaster.

I usually size up in outerwear. I figure that it's awesome if I get more wear of it, but if I can't it's no more a waste than buying two in the perfect size.
