We had a major thunderstorm last night it knocked out power to over a million people in our area with winds upward to 80 mph. We lost power and the storm scared my 3 y.o. so he slept with us in our bed last night. Thank goodness for a king bed! It was our first time having him in our bed last night and I have to say that I don't care much for it. He woke up around 4 am crying b/c he didn't know where he was at and then spent the next 2 hours moving around, sitting up, and trying to get off the bed to go see his little brother sleeping in a co-sleeper on my side of the bed. And then he kept asking what that noise was. It was my 12 week old and 11.5 y.o. dog snoring! I couldn't sleep until he was asleep so I was up on and off during those two hours. And then when he finally fell asleep he started to put his legs and arms all around both of us. He even sat up and moved his head to the foot of the bed. We probably all got about 5-6 hours of sleep total last night. I thought we would have a major toddler meltdown all morning but it wasn't too bad and now he is taking a nap. I hope it'll be a long one to make up for lost sleep last night.

I don't know how you parents out there do it with a toddler in your bed. You are brave!! What do you do to get some rest with a toddler in your bed? I'm sure this won't be our last time with him in our bed so any advice would be greatly appreciated!
