Out of the blue T had 3 pee accidents yesterday and 2 today. He hasn't had a pee accident in a month since he has been trained. I thought yesterday was perhaps just coming down off of an exciting weekend (bday)I would ask him if he had to potty and he would say no but then seconds later would be soaked. Today he was at school and this happened though. I'm wondering if he has a UTI? Any other thoughts?

Could be, but usually with UTI if one is symptomatic, there are other symptoms? Can't hurt to try one of those at home tests.

Going through the same thing I think it's a bit of a regression though...doesn't hurt to call the dr.

@winniebee: does he complain that it hurts? Does he have a fever? My son hydronephrosis so those are the questions his pedi always asks. He's also had to give urine samples a few times to get it sent to the lab. Thank goodness he's never had a UTI but with his hydro they are just being extra precautious but I'm not complaining Bc I worry about his kidney all the time and am deathly afraid of him getting a UTI. Since you're son is healthy all that was probably irrelevant though. Just sharing.

When my dd had a uti, she was very obviously ill. High fever and didnt want to eat or drink anything and didnt want to move. Does he have any other symptoms?

Make sure he's not constipated.

A 2.5 year old girl in my preschool class had a UTI. Her only symptoms were frequent peeking & a vague complaint of a sore back. It wouldn't hurt to get it checked.

@Espion: you know he is constipated. Tiny rock poops the past few days. No dietary changes though and he drinks lots of water and eats berries. The only thing I can think of is he's had some applesauce packets which he doesn't normally eat.

I don't know about constipation alone but from my experience with post-infectious IBS I know that tummy stuff can definitely affect bladder stuff, I thought it was the weirdest thing to get an irritable bladder from an upset stomach. Hope he doesn't have a UTI after all!

@winniebee: I have read that constipation can lead to more frequent urination. Something about the intestines pushing on the bladder?

Today is much better with no accidents so far (though I've been annoying with reminders). He also took a rather large BMthis afternoon so hopefully that was the issue!
