I'm just so excited. My 14 month old LO just started saying tons of words. A couple new ones a day. When I ask her what sound does a _____ (elephant/sheep/monkey/lion etc) make? she answers with the appropriate sound without any pictures shown. Early on, our ped. said she would be a 'talker' ---he noticed from her babbling to him at appts. So anyway... it doesn't mean anything in the big scope of things since everything falls into place, as it should. I'm just really happy she can communicate with us now and likes language. I'm also glad I did NOT spend my limited time (working mom) with flashcards and used only a little bit of sign language. She's definitely got the hang of her sounds. She even repeated the alphabet after me the other day. Got stuck on W so didn't do X and Z. Most of the letters actually sounded like the real letters and the others were awkward attempts. Anyway...for us, we just read books to her from one month old, in the swing and modeling by reading ourselves. Maybe a book a day depending on her interest level. Oh and also we watch some 'educational' videos on Youtube while I'm splitscreen typing on Hellobee.
