DS is almost 8 months and just today has had a snotty, runny nose. Tonight he nursed down to sleep and woke up 2 hours later(this is normal for him) but when I went in to nurse him again, he pulled off gasping for breath, he's so congested he can't sleep. We have tried latching back on a number of times, and it's not working for him.

We have the humidifier going and also hung out in a steamy bathroom for a while. Nose Frieda doesn't seem to get much, it's all really stuck up there.

He's tired and feeling crummy and wants to nurse but can't. Any other suggestions? Should I be worried about his inability to breathe through his nose?
