I want to get my 20 month nephew a tool bench for Christmas. I have ~$50 budget. Can you recommend one? Fairly compact one, preferred!

LO has the Alex Toys tool bench, which is nice and compact. I bought it for $25, but I can't seem to find it for that cheap. I've seen them occasionally on Woot for $50.

I got DS the craftsman one when he was little. He really loved it. We still have a lot of the toy tools that came with it, but the bench itself is long gone.

Melissa and Doug is 69 on amazon and it is nice looking. I found one for 19.99 at Walmart (it's their brand) that folds up.

@locavore_mama: did you ever find one you liked? DH and I were just talking tonight that we are going to get one for J. He's always tinkering with things and we think he will LOVE something like this. So far I like the look of the Melissa & Doug one the best but thought I'd ask!

@babyjmama: We got Melissa and Doug for Christmas and it is nice. My only complaint is that the wood is soft sow the top already has indentations from his bam/bam (hammering)
