We just use some ikea bookcases but we need to find a better alternative

I have cube shelves and love them. I only have 4 of the boxes full of toys, and I rotate what I get out (I keep all of his toys in clear shoeboxes in the closet and pull out a few at a time to play with). The cube shelves are fine...I just pull the whole cube out when it is play time, and we put the toys back in the boxes and then I put the boxes back in the shelf for him. When he is bigger he will be able to put the boxes back. But I like that it is clear that the toys are put away during nap time and bedtime...it seems less tempting that way now that he isn't in a crib anymore.

I have one of each of those (the tilted bins and the sling bookshelf) and I hate them!! I moved the sling bookshelf to Wagon Jr.'s room.. mostly because it can only hold a few books. So we use them for his thin, large, hardcover paper (non-board) books for bedtime stories. It's still totally overloaded though, and I've heard that the cloth rips over time so you really have to be careful.

I also hate the plastic bins because it just puts the mess on further display.

I have the cube shelves from Ikea and I love them. They have these pull out cubes that are made from cloth and they're perfect for kids because they're soft, and easy to pull out. They come in all sorts of fun colors now but we have black and white, and the shelves are espresso. We have a tall one and a short one, and the short one is all books and toys. The bottom row of 4 are pull out bins (black, white, black, white) and each has a different kind of toy (dress-up clothes, trucks/cars, etc). The top row are all filled with books, mostly board books, and one cube is all coloring and activity books. I like standing the books up so their spines are vertical, but if you're in a hurry you can also just stack them in the cubes and push them back to make room for more. I really do love them! Plus we can use them in the future while that kiddy furniture you really can't.
