My niece has outgrown her pack n play and needs a place to sleep at grandma and grandpas. Since whatever they get will eventually be used by my LO, I'm looking into options. Are there pack n plays for larger kids? Or other options besides buying a regular crib? They don't want to just do a floor bed.

We have a 4 moms breeze... It's pretty roomy! I love it because it is so so easy to set up/take down. Dd sleeps in it quite a bit (at my parents, hotels etc) and she loves it

We do a trundle bed at MIL's (which they already had) and a twin mattress on the floor at my parents. When we went on vacation recently, LO just slept in a big regular bed and had no trouble, but she is 2 1/2 now. Is that an option?

We use a baby bjorn travel crib and love it. My almost 2 y/I sleep in it when we travel.

I'm so glad you posted this, I just got back from a trip with my 13-month-olds, neither of which slept very well. One was in a pnp and the other in the baby Bjorn crib but their sleep was pretty bad
Is 13 months too young to do a floor bed? -
@Zbug: how old is your niece? we have a Bjorn travel crib that we love. Used it for my 18 month old son recently and he slept really well.

We got this cot from amazon. We just got back from camping for three nights and my 2 year old slept great in it! It folds up nicely too and has a sheet that comes with it.

@MamaCate: I'm going to suggest just a twin on the floor again. She's 16 months, so I don't think a regular bed will work. She technically still fits in the pnp but isn't sleeping well in it.

LO is 2 and uses this toddler travel bed:
It's like an aerobed but with bumpers. The mattress is the size of a crib mattress, so it's not too big, but not too small. There is also a twin bed sized version.

@Zbug: it's 7" off the ground. One night my toddler was sleeping on his belly with his knees in the ground! It's 48" long so I'm hoping to get another year or two out of it.

Both grandmas have a folding dream on me crib. Inexpensive but you have to do a mattress. He sleeps so much better in a real crib than pNp or bjorn travel crib though he is happier in the bjorn than pNp (he's 25 months and it's been this way for a year)

@Trailmix: we did a floor bed for LO in her room from birth so I would say no! We started the mattresses when tracking after rough sleep in the pnp on vacation at 18 mos and LO did well. Especially if you have a twin mattress they are huge and they will have a lot if space to work with.
