I wish there were a Traveling board....

We will be traveling with LO (8.5 month old). Since he recently decided he doesn't want to breastfeed anymore we are gradually switching to formula (long story, please don't judge me ). We are newbies to formula, and on top of that I am still hoping to pump two times a day. All of a sudden I realized I'll be bringing soooo much gear - the many bottles, formula, containers that contain formula powder, sippy cups, spoons, containers for his food, baby food, pump! pump parts. washing detergent and a brush! OMG....

I thought about bringing a big bowl to contain the bottles when washing them every night so I don't put those bottles directly in the bathroom sink and got my husband upset! He thought we were just going for 4 days and I am bringing the whole house down there...

I thought about buying those playtex bottles with drop-in liners so I didn't have to wash so many bottles (the liners are disposable), but since I am going to all of a sudden switch LO to almost completely formula (since we still have a pretty big stash of breastmilk in the freezer so he's still getting 80-100% of breastmilk a day at home - but we can't bring the stash with us on vacation!), I didn't want to introduce a new bottle+nipple at the same time as well (he already isn't a very enthusiastic eater).

Another question is, do I buy baby water when I get to the destination, or do you boil your own water? (we'll be staying in a hotel which means if we were to boil our own water, we'd have to use that dirty coffee maker and boil it 1 cup at a time...) Or do you just use any regular water from the tap...? or purified water you buy from the supermarket?

Do you have any tips at all that can make traveling with an 8.5 month old easier? Again I am a formula newbie. Should it really be this hard? Anything that I am forgetting?
