DH & I went a little insane and booked a 9-day trip this summer with our 3yo and our (approx.) 8-week old baby. We'll be in SoCal for 4 days and Ohio for 4 days.
We've traveled a lot with DD so I'm good with packing, car seats & strollers and gate checking and all that. The issue I can't resolve is sleeping arrangements.
In SoCal we're going to be staying in a hotel. We're not co-sleepers so I'm trying to figure out the best arrangement for our family. My options are:
2 queen beds (1 for us, 1 for DD) and a pack-n-play or a crib provided by the hotel for LO
OR
1 king bed for us, a roll away cot for DD and a travel bassinet thingy that sits in the bed between me & DH for LO.

Once we get to Ohio we won't have to worry about it but I can't figure out what to do in Cali! I think option 1 would mean that we wouldn't need to lug anything extra with us which would be nice but maybe it would be less crowded to do option 2.
I could always purchase the co-sleeper thing and have it shipped to my friends in CA so I wouldn't have to worry about it. We won't be using it at home anyway.

Has anyone done this?
