M and I are staying with my best friend and her husband for a few days in August. Their house has a bedroom downstairs and two beds upstairs. The beds upstairs are the master bedroom and a craft room. M still wakes up at least once a night, sometimes 2 if she is in a strange place/sleeping arrangement. She does not do well sleeping in the same room as me, she wakes up 4+x/night.

As long as you think she'll be able to go to sleep at night I would go with the dining room.

I say keep her downstairs with you. Thats interesting she wakes up more if you are in the room.

@regberadaisy: yeah, the upstairs is pretty small (think dormers). It's just two beds, a tiny bath and a stairwell in between them.

Does she have kids?
If yes, then I would put M in the craft room because they will be less bothered by the noise. If not, I would put her downstairs and sleep together first night. If it goes horrible maybe set up a aerobed in the living room for you & DH?

@regberadaisy: no kids there. It's just M and me staying with her - husband is going to stay with his BFF.

Then I would put M in the bedroom downstairs and crash on the couch. Try the bed the first night if it's a epic fail then do the couch the remainder.
