Daycare is doing Trunk or Treat on 10/28 and I need some ideas for the easiest possible/cheapest trunk or treat decorations. I've lost every creative bone in my body, so help a girl out

If you have or could easily get some bigger sized cardboard boxes you could paint them to look like pirate trunks/chests and paint pirate face type deal on them. Give out cheap beaded necklaces as the non candy alternative.

The most successful and memorable trunk or treat I remember my family doing was when we decorated the trunk with summer stuff and my dad set up a grill while he wore an apron. He would ask the kids as they came up if they were ready for their hamburger and flip them one of those gummy hamburgers from the grill. All the kids loved it and it was different from all the rest.
