I think M is going through a sleep regression. It is KILLING us so, I've decided to do something about it. Yes, I. My husband is really good about letting me make the decisions and going along with them unless he's totally opposed.
Last night she did not want to go to sleep but 7pm is her bedtime. So, I put her in her crib at 7pm and sat in her room with her until she finally fell asleep at 7:15. She fussed, she cried, she held onto the bars of the crib and shook them. She flopped around like a drama queen. I sat in the rocking chair for a while, then I moved over and let her feel my presence and gave her my hand if she wanted to hold it.
I'm not sure if it's a coincidence or what but...she slept better last night. She slept from 7:15 - 12:30 and then to 4:30. She hasn't slept later than 10:30/11 in a month or so now. I think we're going to keep doing this at bedtime and see if it gets better/continues to help her sleep.
Has anyone else found that if you let your lo fall asleep on their own (not being rocked or nursed to sleep) that they sleep longer?
