My BFF is hopefully TTC, starting in January. Her SIL got her BFP in her first month trying, which has her DH freaked out that they'll be KU immediately.
So, polling out of curiosity, how many months did it take you to get pregnant with your first LO (without medical intervention - just for the same of being hopeful for her chances of conceiving without fertility issues)?
ETA: Anyone been through the journey of easing the nerves of a significant other about trying? Any advice to offer?

First time was a charm for us but I think the average norm is 8 months?? And you have to factor in little mistakes like using non sperm friendly lube or not charting or having regular enough relations. Is she charting her cycle in any way? A firm of mine took six months then charted and bam! Pregnant the second month charting.

5 months, but ended in loss. TTC 3 months after that and we have a healthy baby boy now!

2 months. We were expecting 6+ months. DH was a little freaked out at first but started getting excited when I started showing and he could feel kicks.

I voted three months because that's how long it took to get a sticky baby. But I actually got pregnant on the first try, miscarried, took a month off, and got pregnant on the first try again.

13 months for a sticky baby.
Got pregnant on cycle 3, but miscarried, then took 5 more cycles. So 8 cycles, but mine are long (45ish days), so actually 13 months.

Got pregnant second month TTC but it was a chemical. Got pregnant four months later (so 6th cycle TTC) and we'll be 12 weeks on Christmas!

It took us 4 months.
As far as advice on her husband, we talked a lot about it months before we actually "pulled the goalie" (January of this year), so by the time we did it, DH was still nervous about getting KU right away but excited and willing at the same time. I was much more ready than he was, but once we started talking about it, he realized how a ton of our friends were already pregnant or had babies, and how it wouldn't be bad to "join the club". Once we actually got pregnant, he was still kinda nervous, but is now just as excited as I am for our little guy to come (in about 3 weeks!!). So basically, I'm saying he'll come around, I think it takes most guys longer to want to give up their current lifestyle (to some extent) and have kids!

BFP first cycle ended in loss at 8w. Conceived LO 3 cycles later so I voted 5 months.

We got pregnant the first month we tried, but it ended in a MC. Then, our next pregnancy was 6 months later ... We tried each month before, but baby wasn't ready until then!

First try both times. DS1 we got a positive two weeks after we got married, DS2 we got a positive three weeks after DH got home from deployment, lol.

It took only 4 months, which was a surprise since I have severe endometriosis and my OB thought I'd need to have laparascopic surgery first.

You might have done better to make multiple options possible. Those of us who've had losses won't have just one answer. That being said, 1 month the first time, 1 month the second, and on month 2 this time, but in the TWW so don't know yet.

Both times it took 1 month to get a bfp, but both ended in loss due to a chromosomal abnormality I have.
ETA: it's been 16 months and still no LO, but hoping this first IVF cycle w/PGD will get me a bfp and a take home baby. Come on, Jan 8th!

ETA - There was a chemical on cycle 7, I think, if you want to count that.

Wow, thanks BFF! It's me she's talking about Thanks to everyone else who responded to this post. Yes, I've been charting the past 3 months, got off all my medications (migraines), read a fertility book, been taking prenatal vitamins, and I've been charting for 3 cycles now. I'm really trying to learn everything before we start. My DH is pretty anxious about this whole thing, but I'm hoping he comes around soon. Thanks for the info, everyone!

1 month but ended in miscarriage at 7 weeks and then 1 month again and now I'm 32+5 with my baby boy can't wait to hold him in feb

Wow! Surprised to see how many votes there were for one month. It took DH and I one month (or cycle rather) as well. We must've timed it just right without knowing because I got a BFP today. Praying that this pregnancy is health and goes full term.
