TTC 6 months + February: Love and BFPs

@WinterBee: thank you! I also was not ovulating on my own and it only took two medicated cycles to get pregnant. Fingers crossed for you!

    @Kitkat: Congrats!!

I won't be posting much because I'm trying to stay *off* baby boards. Obsessing really gets my anxiety going and I'm trying to enjoy this pregnancy, unlike my last one where I was a mess the whole time.

BUT, I will lurk around here and I'm still keeping my fingers crossed for everyone!! Hoping February is everyone's month!

@kitkat you give me so much hope.

I am 39 on my second month of clomid and in the TWW. This is cycle 9 for us TTC.

DR. said she will let me continue clomid for 2 more month. I definitely has a good size follicle this month and also a good progesterone reading so I definitely ovulated. FX.

    @kitkat:Congrats!! That is so exciting!

@winterbee: Congrats on Weight Loss!! That's something to feel great about during all this unknown!

I'm praying for this group of women!! Hoping to see lots of BFPs soon!

I had my first apt with RE and I'm excited to say it went great! He thinks I may have mild PCOS/ovulation problems with a LP defect. We are going straight to an IUI next cycle. He feels very positive and thinks I will be pregnant within the year! That was so awesome to hear! In the meantime, he gave me progesterone to try this cycle after my O. I'll be starting prometrium 3 days after my O. Hoping to see this lengthen my LP. It would be awesome if I get my BFP this month, but I'm feeling super hopeful/excited with the IUI next month!

    How is everyone doing?

No chance to POAS. Temp plummeted this morning and had lots of spotting. Looks like AF is here. Hello cycle 7... 😒

I'm feeling deflated this morning. 8dpo and bfn on a wondfo. I know it's still early but it totally took all of the wind out of my sails and I'm in a bad, bad mood now. And to top it off my pg friend at work comes in and first things she says is "look at my bump, it came out of nowhere"... I literally told her I can't talk about her pg today, it's not a good day!! Blahhh to the world... I am so over this emotional rollercoaster.

    @Kitkat: congrats

@Ajsmommy: I am so sorry, dats like that are the worst. 😢 Does your friend know what you are going through?

It's my first cycle on Clomid and I am already going crazy. I had a temp jump this morning at 7DPO after a few days of really low temps, and I am trying to talk myself out of POAS. Stupid FRERs calling my name. Rationally, I recognize there are a variety of factors that can cause both the drop and spike, trying to temper my expectations.

@Plainpistachio: sorry about AF. Be kind to yourself!

@Winnie13: sounds like a great appt! Is he giving you the P as a precaution?

@Winnie13: Sounds like a great appointment! What kind of meds will you be on for the IUI cycle?

    @Plainpistachio: I'm sorry about AF

@Ajsmommy: It's so beyond tempting to test early, but most cycles I just can't take the heartbreak! Re-test in a few days!!

@Crystal: Sounds promising!! Are you still going to wait to test until Monday? I'm 7dpo, too, and it's taking everything in me to resist testing tomorrow am. I WILL be strong!!

I feel great this month. The past 3 cycles, clomid had me in bad shape. I've had no nasty side effects from either the letrozole or P. Woot!

  12. Crystal

    grapefruit / 4028 posts

@doxielove: it's taking everything in me not to test today, lol. I don't know if I can wait til Monday... Realistically, that's the earliest I should see a positive so I'm trying to be patient.

I'm so glad you feel great! FX for you!

@Crystal: Be strong!! lol. I have 1 frer left (and a bunch of wondfos), so I'm trying to hold out. Here's to hoping we're both on the October due date thread!

@doxielove: thanks, I'm trying! I have 3 FRERs and a bouncy of cheapies I might start using this weekend...

@Plainpistachio: sorry about AF but good luck next cycle!
@Ajsmommy: in over the emotional rollercoaster too! You know though that 8dpo is way too early. You gave it your all this month so don't count yourself out yet.

@Winnie13: that's great that your RE is moving along quickly! Good luck with IUI next cycle!
@Crystal: @doxielove: good luck ladies! Hope to see a couple of BFPs from you in the next few days!

I got another round of blood tests back today and they're terrible. My AMH was 0.35 which I understand to indicate low fertility. Coupled with my high FSH I feel doomed. We meet with our RE on the 17th and I sure hope he wants to get the ball rolling with IUI or IVF or whatever the heck it's going to take.

CD 13 and my OPK's got a little darker. I'm expecting a positive tomorrow or Monday. Praying it's a nice and strong ovulation. Excited to try the P and see how it impacts my LP. Not too excited for all the CM it will cause, but whatever I have to do!!!

@ajsmommy: I'm sorry. That does sound like a rough day. Don't get discouraged though, 8DPO is still early! Try waiting a few more days!

@doxielove: Femara, ovidral, and P. Prometrium suppositories 2x a day. Nothing too major. What did you try? I'll go in for a day 1 scan, a day 10 scan and then go from there. Since I'm a new patient, I'll go on for my day 3 bw as well. Praying for a BFP from you girl!!

@crystal: I think he's giving me P because of my consistently short LP. I'm trying it this cycle to see how it lengthens my LP. I'm def not expecting a BFP, but it would be nice!! Praying you get a BFP very soon!!!

@delight: I think he didn't know what to do with me. I came in with my typed out cycles including O days and LP's. I had blood work and my lap film with me... Lol! I feel very relieved to have an IUI next cycle!! Praying you get some relief at your next apt.!

@delight: lurker and occasional supporter wanting to jump in and say that I'm sorry for your results Do you take any supplements? If not, I would definitely suggest CoQ10. It's a vitamin and can improve egg quality, but it does take some time. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions on whatever process you decide to go through next. I've done 3 IUI and 1 IVF and will be starting my 2nd IVF in a few weeks

@delight: I'm sorry about the blood work. I'm sure your RE will have a plan!

@Winnie13: Good luck with O tomorrow. Having that confirmed is exciting!

Nothing much has changed here yet. I'm not sure if I ovulated or not... my doctor said not to bother to take OPKs but just have sex... which we've been doing. But I think if it doesn't happen this month I might try them next.
Today is day 19... I 'should have' O'ed a couple days ago.
Next Tuesday I go in for progesterone blood work. I'm nervous! Probably the most nervous I've been during this whole journey. Trying not to get my hopes up though.

    pomegranate / 3355 posts

@delight: hang in there!!! Just remember your numbers don't necessarily mean it can't happen! All you need is one good egg. I've got high fsh and low AMH as well but I'm trying to stay positive...... Easier to do some days than others

  20. delight

    pomelo / 5326 posts

@NorthStar: thanks for the support. I have been reading about CoQ10 and definitely want to Start! How much should I take? What about DHEA? I'm going to ask my doc about that too. I think we would be looking at an IVF cycle in July so I'll get on it ASAP. Good luck on ivf2
@Winnie13: I think my RE thinks I'm a little bonkers too. When I went for my HSG I told him I ovulated the day before based on ovulation pain and CM and sure enough there was my big old ovulated follicle on the ultrasound.
@WinterBee: thanks lady. I'm willing to try anything at this point! I saw on the other thread you are in Ontario too. Do you know anything about how in Ontario, one round of IVF is covered? Is there a wait list? Maybe you aren't quite at that stage, but I am super thankful that our government has decided to cover one round. I'm sure there are lots of loopholes though.
@Ajsmommy: it sounds like we are in the same boat, and we both caught a golden egg before, it can happen again! I just feel like it is a race against time though. Does high FSH and low AMH mean bad quality or just low numbers? Is this why I have had miscarriages and my little girl with Turner's? I haven't had too much trouble getting pregnant, but so far my batting accuracy at healthy babies is low. You hang in there too. I have my FX for all of us here.

  21. WinterBee

    persimmon / 1071 posts

@delight: Sorry, I'm not sure. I'm in the tww of my first cycle using letrozole. So we've pretty much just started our infertility journey.
I'm also happy IVF is covered! I hope you two qualify! Feel free to share info when you find out! It's all pretty foreign to me.
    Whereabouts in Ontario are you?

  22. delight

    pomelo / 5326 posts

@WinterBee: we have just started our journey into treatment as well. I'm hoping to try a couple months of IUI before jumping into IVF. We meet our RE to discuss all our test results (which I have already received and they are all awful) in a couple weeks. I'll find out about the Ontario program and let you know. I'm in SW Ontario, you?

@delight: Ahhh! I'm sorry your blood work is not ideal. Hopefully your doctor can point out the silver lining for you.
My doctor is pretty blunt, but that's one of the reasons I like him.
We're in south-central Ontario. A couple hours north of Toronto.

@delight: so, 600mg of coq10 per day or the more easily absorbed ubiquinol (it's just another version of coq10). I wouldn't take any dhea until you get your levels tested cause it can cause harm if you don't need it. It takes about 3 months to improve egg quality, so you have time!!! Good luck!!

@bloomingflower: why 4 months? My dr is allowing 6 for Clomid.

    @WinterBee: @delight: I can't believe you get a round of IVF covered, that's amazing!

@NorthStar: I hope everything is going well for you! I've considered taking the coq10 just because, it seems like it can't hurt

I'm having our at 8DPO. I'm getting anxious!

@Crystal: yes it is pretty awesome that IVF is covered. From what I understand, it is only the first round and only for transferring one. It doesn't cover meds but it sure saves a lot of $. It's a brand new program that just started in December. Best wishes to you too. I keep on hoping you get your babe.

Ok girls, I've called about 5 different pharmacies and no one carries 200mg prometrium suppositories. I only found one pharmacy that carries the 200mg capsules that's aid I can insert vaginally. Has anyone heard of this? I am going to call my doc tomorrow to verify. Praying that this is ok seeing as it's only $20!! I need to take it 2x a day, so it's very cost effective for us!

    grapefruit / 4028 posts

@delight: thank you. ❤️ I'm hoping you do too. Even if it's only partially covered, that's pretty amazing. (Though I fully recognize that the other parts are still extremely expensive). I hope you don't have to get that far though. ❤

@Winnie13: I'm sorry, I dont understand the question. I hope youre able to confirm with the dr!

  31. Winnie13

    kiwi / 501 posts

@Crystal: I think I've figured it out!! I have a script for prometrium to be inserted vaginally. I thought it was for an actual suppository, but the capsule can be used vaginally and orally.

  32. Crystal

    grapefruit / 4028 posts

@Winnie13: oh! Yes, for P suppositories it's supposed to be entered vaginally. ☺

  33. Winnie13

    kiwi / 501 posts

@Crystal: lol!! I think I'm even confusing myself!!! I know that a suppository is a suppository! Lol. The script says P to be used vaginally. Everyone I called only had the oral capsules. The pharmacist said people can insert the capsule vaginally... Then a website said the capsules and the suppositories are the same... Like the ones you can take orally are also the ones you can insert vaginally. Moral of the story... Regardless of what I'm picking up at the pharmacy.. I'm sticking it up there! Lol! Whatever works!

  34. Crystal

    grapefruit / 4028 posts

@Winnie13: oh, I see! Yes, I've heard they can be used both ways. (And I actually know someone that used P as a suppository, but they didn't insert it vaginally... Lol)

  35. delight

    pomelo / 5326 posts

@Winnie13: my Prometrium could be use orally or vaginally and mine were 100mg so I just put in a couple. Hope you do ok with yours! I haven't had any side affects and don't find it "gross" or anything. There's a little discharge when I wake up in the morning but not the horror stories I have heard!
@Crystal: thanks. I hope I don't have to do IVF either but at this point I'm willing to pull out all stops. It's definitely in the plans for the summer. Hopefully the next few months will bring another BFP. Are you testing tomorrow?! Good luck!!

@Crystal: @delight: I have friends who swear by back door progesterone pessaries (less leakage) but I can't bring myself to do it, haha. TMI?

  37. doxielove

    persimmon / 1388 posts

@Winnie13: I did letrozole days 5-9 and 200 mg/day oral progesterone beginning 3dpo. I'm excited to see my lp lengthen! Usually by 9dpo (today) I'd be spotting pretty heavily. Not so this cycle! Thanks, P!

@delight: I'm sorry about the discouraging blood work results

Yesterday I had bright pink spotting 1x when I wiped in the afternoon. Tmi but idk if it's from irritation from bd in the am or what. Damn you ambiguous blood! I also stupidly tested after a 2ish hour hold, negative, of course. I've had cramps all day, which is what prompted me to test. So silly. I'm terrified to test tomorrow morning. I may wait until Tuesday.

@jaguar: lol I read that online somewhere! My 'roids say "hells no" to that! P.S I am so excited for you!
@doxielove: thanks. My numbers suck, but I just keep telling myself that I got my DD, so maybe there are a couple more good eggs floating around in there! If you do decide to test again tomorrow, good luck!! I have everything crossed that we see some from you ladies in the next few days!

  39. Crystal

    grapefruit / 4028 posts

@delight: I tested yesterday at 8DPO ( <--- officially crazy). I was throwing away the test many hours and later and saw what looks like a line, but I couldn't tell if it was an evap or very faint BFP. I used a frer this afternoon, and it was definitely negative. I'm hoping it's just too early. I'm sure I'll cave again tomorrow, lol, even though my original plan was to wait a few days. I completely understand about being willing to pull out all the stops. I truly believe you have some good eggs in there!

@jaguar: I've heard that the P leaks and can make you feel waxy, NO WAY do I want that coming out my back door. 😁

@doxielove: that's so awesome about you LP! FX for good news tomorrow or Tuesday! I'm hoping the spotting was implantation.
