@Mrs. Champagne: that's good news! I had crazy cramps last night that were like my old ovulation pains, so not sure what's going on there...time will tell I suppose.

Is it even possible to ovulate this soon after a m/c? I'm having weird cramps too, but it's most likely still my uterus contracting, I'm guessing. Yesterday was 3 weeks post D&C..
I'm a little concerned because we have DTD a few times this week (got the go ahead at 2 weeks post) and i've bled afterward each time. Anyone else?

@JoJoGirl: I bled after too! At my follow up U.S. two weeks after the MC the tech said I was ovulating. So you could be.

@JoJoGirl: I have heard it happening but as I'm not charting or OPKs yet, I can't be sure if that's what's going on. Hope the bleeding didn't freak you out!

@JoJoGirl: I think it's entirely possible to OV right after a mc. I've heard of girls getting pregnant a couple weeks after mc. I had weird cycles for a couple months and didn't start chatting until 3 months later so I'm unsure if I ovulated right after mine.

@Mrs. Champagne: @Nutella: @delight: Okay thanks!! Makes me nervous though, do you think it would be dangerous to get pregnant again this quickly?
Also, possibly related: anyone find themselves rather.. randy... right after m/c!?!? I was super depressed for like 2 weeks and now all the sudden I'm like.... feeling like a teenager. Crazy hormones.

@JoJoGirl: I got my period 5 weeks after my D & C, so 3 weeks for ovulation sounds about right. And ovulating would explain your increased interest, haha!
I know my doctor told me to take 2 cycles off, but I'm honestly not sure what the risks are. I'm SURE people get pregnant right away all the time and go on to have healthy babies.

@My Only Sunshine: Huh. Well, I started temping again a few days ago so I guess we'll see. I have my follow up HcG bloodwork tomorrow so part of me is fantasizing the doc will be like "oh my! You're pregnant again!" buut even if I ovulated this week, I know it wouldn't show up yet. A girl can dream..

Also thought I'd pop in here to add I am REALLY LOVING my sushi lunch right now - trying to be grateful for that

@JoJoGirl: nice! I've really been enjoying my nightly glass of wine
grapefruit / 4028 posts
@JoJoGirl: my dr said you have a higher rate of MC if you get KU the first cycle after a miscarriage, especially a D&C. I'm not quite.2 weeks out from my D&C, but I've felt quite
a few moments of wanting to get it on. (I'm not allowed to yet, though). I think it's because DH has been so kind and supportive,'and I'm feeling really close to him right now. And sushi=yum!
@Mrs. Champagne: I've definitely been enjoying alcohol a lot lately! I've also made a list of all the things I couldn't have before that Im working my way through: alcohol, Sushi, eggs Benedict, etc.

How long after your D&Cs did you quit bleeding?
I'm at nearly two weeks and still seeing lots of dark spotting, and it will be two weeks tomorrow.
persimmon / 1355 posts
@Crystal: I stopped bleeding right around two weeks. It was about a week of period like bleeding, then some huge clots (tissue?) for a couple of days and then gradually turned into spotting. I then had a "period" 2.5 weeks later. But I'm not sure I actually ovulated.
How are you feeling?
persimmon / 1045 posts
@Crystal: I had spotting then passed tissue then it tapered off into spotting but was finished in a week. The tissue was a surprise as was not expecting it & had not prepared myself for anything more than spotting.
Are you still cramping as well? Ive heard of others spotting for two weeks if that helps.

Ergh, I was feeling really awful and sad today..one of those days where I couldn't catch a lucky break at all. Then just realised I would have been 12 weeks exactly today - that could explain the blue funk hope everyone else is doing better.
pomelo / 5326 posts
@Crystal: I bled for two weeks and then had what I thought was my period two weeks after that. It could have been residual bleeding cause I got another period two weeks later. It took me a couple months before I felt back on track with my cycle. I hope you stop bleeding soon.
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
@Crystal: I also stopped bleeding around 2 weeks. I hope having unprotected sex since the D&C doesn't come back to bite me in the ass - they said sex was fine after 2 weeks. Ugh.
@Nutella: Today was supposed to be my 12 week ultrasound (had already been scheduled). Instead I'm going in for my post-D&C bloodwork. Feeling down today too.

@Nutella: sorry you are in a funk It's hard passing certain milestones. I actually took my due date off from work and pampered myself that day.
persimmon / 1045 posts
@JoJoGirl: don't stress, I'm sure you'll be fine...and best case you'll be preggers again
@delight: thanks think I'll do something nice this weekend if I can. Weird how I totally felt crap for no apparent reason - had completely blocked out the dates

WOW that appointment was a total waste of time. Turns out they only do follow-up bloodwork for natural m/c, not D&C. So I paid a $20 co-pay, waited for a 30 min late provider, had her ask me how I'm doing and I start crying and she's like "Okay, we're all set! Next time we'll give you an early ultrasound. We're here when you need us". The end.
Also reallllyyy nice running into some random girl I knew 10 years ago in the waiting room.

@JoJoGirl: ugh. What a painful emotional appointment. I'm sorry. I'm surprised she didn't ask about mental health at all! Seems rude/uncaring. We all know how common mc are so I know they see it all the time, but still.
Maybe now you'll just find out your KU at home! Side note- my friend got pregnant right after her D&C. Never had another period. She delivered this month and he's healthy! So I wouldn't worry. If you body allows it, it'll be safe. My Ob also said after one MC you really aren't that much more likely to have another. Maybe a slight increase but not astronomically.
Hope you keep your head up over your appointment. Thinking of you

My heart is with all you ladies who are in a funk right now. I'm there with you. I think I got it in my head that we were going to conceive right after my d&c, but we are now a little over two months out and not preggo and my luteal phase last cycle was too short. It feels like a punch in the gut when I see my friend who is due days after I was due with her growing baby. I hope next month is the month for a lot of us here!
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
@LibbyLou: Thank you I'm feeling really delusional that I feel like it's possible to get KU 3 weeks after my D&C. But with the crazy hormones this week making me want to DTD and cramps I feel like I must be ovulating. I have no idea. Don't want to get my hopes up, too.
@Zbug: I'm so sorry Have you talked to your doc about your luteal phase?
persimmon / 1355 posts
@JoJoGirl: dr put in orders to check progesterone next cycle, but the thought is that my body is probably still just regulating itself. I'm afraid that is my progesterone is low, however, that there won't be enough time to supplement and another month will go by. Not much I can do about that though. Just hoping for the best.
grapefruit / 4028 posts
@Zbug: @Nutella: cramping is much much better, only happening sporadically. Wny don't they warn you about the tissue?! I had some that shocked me as well, but that was early days. It's been mainly spotting the last 5 days or so.
@Nutella: I'm so sorry to hear about being in a funk. I can empathize with you... It's hard to get out of it. Be kind to yourself today.
@delight: thanks. ️ Did you have your normal PMS symptoms or know it was coming? I hate when AF surprises me.
@JoJoGirl: I'm sure you didn't mess anything up! And even if you do get KU, then it doesn't mean anything bad will happen. It will be a blessing either way. I'm so sorry about your appt, that sounds awful. And I don't get the bloodwork thing, don't they want to know how your body is doing? Grrrr.
@Zbug: it's so hard to see people due near when we were. ️ I hope you get your sticky BFP soon!

@Crystal: right?! We were camping. I sat up and it literally spilled out (sorry if tmi). I had to use one of DD's diapers. Totally freaked me out.

@Zbug: that's terrifying! I'd be scarred for life!
Luckily I was using the bathroom, but i felt these things slither out of me. Weirdest sensation ever.

@JoJoGirl: sorry about your weird appointment, and that they made you feel crappy!
@Zbug: I hope next month is your month too. Hear you on the pain of seeing friend with a close EDD, I think I've been dreading seeing mine - I'm sure she will be sensitive, but I don't know how I'll feel seeing a little bump etc. hate that I can't feel fully happy for her yet

@Zbug: I hear you, the wishing to be pregnant again SO BADLY is strong... it's now been over a year since we were pregnant with loss #1, and nearly a year for loss #2.. and we're still here. It really sucks.
persimmon / 1355 posts
@Crystal: it was a bit surreal.
@Nutella: yeah I feel bad but it's so hard to talk to her abt her pregnancy. I really wanted to avoid the whole I would be this far along thing, but that's impossible now.
@jaguar: oh my gosh. I'm so sorry. Best wishes for a sticky baby soon.

@jaguar: I totally understand, friend. 2 back to back losses is hard.

Thanks ladies! We have egg pick up on Monday, so who knows, if all goes well with retrieval and fertilisation, maybe we'll have an embryo on board next week & a CHANCE at a new baby
persimmon / 1045 posts
@jaguar: just saw your other post regarding family size - how did your appointment go yesterday?
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@Nutella: We had egg collection today - but sadly, got a lot of eggs and hyper enlarged ovaries, so they're freezing them all this week. No transfer for us again
persimmon / 1045 posts
@jaguar: oh no, that's no good - I'm so sorry to hear it. I don't know all the details but I know you were hoping to avoid this. that's just unfair though. Staying positive and crossing fingers for the next step
grapefruit / 4028 posts
@jaguar: I'm not very well versed on IVF- what's the next step from here? FX for you, and sending you hope and positivity.
pomegranate / 3764 posts
@Nutella: So bummed.
@Crystal: First we wait for a period (up to 2 weeks) after the retrieval... then we go on the pill for a whole other cycle, then we have to start completely over for a FET. Means we will be waiting for months.
