My hubby & I are actively TTC. I've never had a flu shot before, but I am thinking I should get one this year. Did any of you get a flu shot during the two week wait? Or while TTC. I imagine its safe, but was curious!

You can get one while pregnant, but you can always call your doc and see what they recommend.

Flu shots are recommended in pregnancy. Get one ASAP.

I got the flu shot during pregnancy. If you want to be careful, u can go get the pregnancy safe (no preservative) flu shot! Good Luck and baby dust!

I am TTC and flu shots were mandatory at my work this year, so I got one for the first time. I did pick a day during the first 2 weeks of my cycle, just because I had the option.

We are also TTC and I keep thinking I will get a flu shot before I O but I still haven't done it! Maybe I can go Friday afternoon. I like the idea of getting the pregnancy safe shot just in case.

Like others, I had the flu shot a few weeks ago at 8 weeks pregnant, so I would imagine you can have it while TTC. I got mine at my midwife so it was the one that is "safe" for pregnant women - not a live virus and preservative free. I was a little nervous because I've never gotten one before but it was virtually painless and I didn't have any lasting ill effects.
Could you get it from your OB/GYN so you could be comfortable it's the right one?

I got one while TTC. I saw the midwife for a regular check up and got it after my appointment, and she didn't have any problem. Turns out I got it like 3 days before we conceived, so no ill effects there
Oh and I didn't think to ask for any special pregnancy safe one.

We were TTC and I got the flu shot. It's safe to and has no side effects.

I got one pregnant, per my doctor. They even suggested DH get one. You would be fine to get one while TTC.

I saw an RE on Monday and she recommended that both DH and I get one (more like told us to get one). I also read that this flu season is supposed to be a pretty bad one and its starting early this year.

I got my first one yesterday at 9w on the recommendation of the doctor. Go for it!
