I think anything up to a year is normal. Are you tracking cycles at all as far as CM or using opks? That may help!

@Claire.Peonies: Just posted on your wall too I'll be 30 in November. I've been charting BBT and using OPKs. Basically doing all that I can but realizing that it's not always up to me!

Totally normal, but also bear in mind that stress plays a role. Do your best to minimize stress where you can - I know that might be a little hard in your work role!

Yeah, it's normal. Sperm have to get through a lot to get to that egg! You should look up the Great Sperm Race on Youtube. You'll then see why it's not so easy, even for totally healthy and fertile people!

@claire.peonies AF came for me today too. i was also convinced i was pregnant this week b/c i had new pms symptoms i've never had before. this was just our first month TTC but i turned 30 this past december. it does feel like time is just ticking....
i hope that you are able to get some time to de-stress despite your very busy schedule & that you get your BFP very soon!

@Claire.Peonies: a lot of bees here swear by acupuncture which could also help with the stress. If nothing else maybe the chiropractor and a massage.

It took us 8/9 cycles to get pregnant with a sticky baby. Stress was a huge factor for me now that I look back it. Growing up, baby making was portrayed as having unprotected sex and BAM! Preggo!! Who knew there was a science behind it. Any how, once I attempted to minimize stress, things were easier for me. For us, the hubby and I picked up bowling on a weekly basis and picked up other hobbies/activities that we haven't done in awhile or wanted to try out. It was great!

I turned 30 right before my 1st was born. My first was conceived on about cycle 3 and my second more like cycle 5. I will have just turned 33 when #2 arrives.

It can seem very very long when TTC, even when you know you don't have IF problems. The only method I used was tracking CM when TTC #2. I think I got confused on how it worked and when was the best time to BD. The month I really understood what to look for was the month we conceived.

Edit: I hope no one takes my IF comment the wrong way. I can't even begin to imagine what it must be like to be facing IF problems. I think that anyone who has been through more than a few cycles of TTC with BFNs every time can become consumed and stressed by it.

@Claire.Peonies: have you joined a POAS board yet? Those girls are great support! I didn't my BFP till cycle 15 of ttc after one early MC at cycle 12. It can take time. My cycles are usually 28 days as well & we followed the creighton method the month we got out BFP. Basicly we BD the moment there was fertile CM, didn't use opk's cause I knew I had been ovulating, &didn't pay attention to my BBT during that time (I was still temping to maintaine my chart).

Honestly it was super stressfull, I started relaxing the last couple months before my bfp. A few glasses of wine during the tww is just fine also anything else you can do to relax, massages, mani pedi, etc. GOOD LUCK!

Absolutely normal. It took 11 cycles for me while charting and using OPKs with no medical issues. Up to one year isn't unusual, just frustrating.

Welcome! I was 29 when TTC for #1, no none issues and it took us 9 cycles. Now we have a healthy beautiful LO who's almost 14 months!

It's frustrating but it just takes time!

@Claire.Peonies: We are only on cycle 2 TTC, but I know what you mean. We had a few friends who went off BC and got pregnant that month. Other friends who took a year (or longer). It's definitely one of those things that is just out of your control (which is really hard for me to deal with as a total Type A person). I was really hoping that we'd get pregnant round 1 and really let down when it didn't happen immediately. But I just have to keep in my mind my life mantra -- *it will all work out* and *gratitude*. I've also read that up to a year is normal for a healthy couple to conceive, so in the mean time, while we are working on the baby-making, I have to keep in mind all of the wonderful things we have going on in our lives and how thankful I am to have such a supportive SO, group of friends and the HB community. (Sorry for being so sappy on a Wednesday morning).
