Hi! I'm feeling a little disappointed, too. I've only been trying for 3 months, but even though I've told myself it'll take a while, in the back of my head I keep thinking/hoping it will happen sooner.

I totally get what you mean about the waiting to be engaged girls - yesterday a friend sent me an email telling me she had a dream I was pregnant - I skimmed it so fast I thought it said SHE was pregnant, and my first gut reaction was anger and sadness. Then relief when I realized what it really said. That's so pathetic, but I can't help it!

Terrible, as I've noted many times on this board over the last week, ha ha. Very discouraged and verging on hopeless.

@Mrs. Blue: Don't lose hope yet. I got multiple BFNs both times I got pregnant. I don't think it was until the third or fourth time that I tested that I got a BFP!

I just had this conversation with my husband last night. I can see it taking a huge toll on him and he sees it taking a huge toll on me. I'm depressed and all around just frustrated.

We've been trying for 2+ years and started IUI two months ago. Both cycles failed and we have to sit out this month b/c the office is upgrading some equipment and will be closed on the weekends. My ovulation is timed to one of those weekends. We will try one more and then I think our option will be IVF. The doctor we're working with was so sure that clomid + IUI would work for us. I feel like I've aged 10 years over the past 2-3 years.

I'm feeling positive. We've been trying casually for just over a year and we're starting to take the next steps now. My husband went in for his semen analysis yesterday. So I'm hopeful that we'll figure out what the issue is and get it fixed! We're so ready to be parents.

Better Today. Last night, horrible!!!!!

I have a friend who found out she is pregnant. She probably about 4-5 months along. How she didn't know, I'm not sure. Her son is 10. She and her husband are thrilled and I'm so excited for her, but she keeps going on about how she was worried to tell me and scared to tell me. Believe me it's a shock and I know they are excited and scared, but stop telling me over and over how hard it is. Then, came home to get the mail and I was sent a newborn feeding kit 'in anticipation of my new arrival'. What?!?!! Really?!!!! So, I get in Facebook hoping someone will take it off my hands and everyone is all--keep it! You will need it soon!- and stuff. So, now it's hidden up above the microwave where I don't go too often. Just the longest, trying day.

On the bright side, still haven't O'ed yet that I can tell. I see hubby starting Sunday night. Fingers crossed I can wait until after Sunday to O, so we can get in some special time.

@SallyNy: I'm so sorry you guys are having so much trouble I really hope you get a BFP soon!!

@sweetchic: Yep! 2 weeks should give you a clear result! Some people get BFPs as soon as 9 days after ovulation, but I would hold off so you don't get a false negative.

I'm feeling... Detached, I guess. I don't know. I finished my provera on Sunday, so I was hoping AF would arrive by now. Who woulda thought when TTC AF would be a welcome sight??! Lol. Cycle started April 5th, never Oed, so I just wanna be done with this waste of a three month cycle and dr is hoping that just having the provera and 'a good bleed', as she put it, will balance me out to O next cycle. Tomorrow I go for my 2nd acupuncture treatment, going to go weekly, so hopefully that will help. I guess I don't even believe its possible that it will happen without assistance at this point. I'm kind of numb. I alternate between mad, heartbroken and numb. I'm really a joy to be around =D

@MamaMoose: Thanks for the encouragement! Unfortunately, I'm 12 DPO, so while it's possible . . . it's starting to be very unlikely. Oh, well, there's always next month!

@Grace: As a 30 year old . . . ouch. I've been hoping it wouldn't take quite that long!

@Mrs. Blue: I'm sure there are plenty of people that get knocked up earlier. It's just a number I hold on to so that I'm not so discourged at being six months in with nary a BFP inside.

@Jennimac: Ack!!! Sometimes things just keep getting worse... I hope it's on the upswing now!

@Jennimac: I am sorry! That has to be so hard. I hope things get better soon!

@Mrs. Blue: @Grace: I was reading that 20-25 yo have 25% chance of conception each "perfect" cycle (ie no issues on either side, perfect timing, CM present, etc), 25-30 yo have 20% chance, 30-34 yo have 10% chance. That was eye-opening as a 34 year old But also a good reminder to not get discouraged. I think that's why they say "7 months", it's an average. But I know lots of people my age and older who got KU within 3 months so you just never know.

@Jennimac: Oh man. What a bummer... how could someone forget that?! I'm sorry...

I of course feel like a million bucks today after the + OPK yesterday, ha haha. It's the little things, I guess. For some reason I have high hopes for this cycle and am letting myself do that even though I am probably setting myself up for a crash!

@Smurfette: No! It just means don't give up!!

@Smurfette: It's a rollercoaster - you're not Debbie Downer, just discouraged. *hugs* and don't lose hope!

I am in the same boat as many - in terms of feeling detached/isolated - but it's all self-inflicted. I don't feel like going to large events where people will make small talk by asking us when we will have kids or events where there are tons of kids around (bdays, showers, etc.). I feel dishonest. I would love to just blurt everything out about how hard it has been, how long we've been trying, etc. etc. But reality kicks in and I know this is not an option.

I'm so sorry that any of us have to go through the frustration of TTC without results. I know that the 7-8 cycles I went through before discovering we had infertility issues were some of the most disheartening ever. I can't stress enough to advocate for yourself with your doctor if you think something isn't right. I was lucky enough to have a GYN who wanted me to come in after 6 months of trying (I am 34, so I think that is one reason), but in my heart of hearts, I just knew something wasn't right. It was a tough blow to find out that we needed IVF, but even just knowing there was an issue made me feel better. Yes, it was tough for DH and I to find out that we BOTH had a problem, but I always say that it is not our fault - we did nothing to cause this. And at least then we could move on with other options.

@Alivoo01: Seriously everyone is posting pictures of their ultrasounds, pictures of their kids wearing a Big Brother shirt, babies they just had, or something these days. Makes me sad. I just want it to happen for me now!!
