I'm feeling very anxious today and I think it's affecting my sleep!!! Now I am not sure temping is really a good idea for me, lol. I LIVE to see my temp in the morning...

@sslm: I stopped after our 2nd month of trying because I was doing that exact thing. I just couldn't sleep becuase I would be worried about the next temp. I may go back to charting if we take longer than a few months, but for right now I'm not temping.

Well today I feel like a train wreck. Lots of crying and pouting. Still waiting to O on CD14 but when we got pregnant in April I O'd on CD17 so just waiting.
I've cleared out my friends list of anyone pregnant on FB. I did contact someone for counseling to deal with my anxiety and the loss of our first pregnancy so hopefully that helps. Ugh.

@alison206: I'm so sorry! I know it's a rough road. I was at the point I was about to contact someone and that's when I started to feel better. I still have bad days, but they are becoming bad moments rather than a full-blown day. I hope it gets better for you! It's hard seeing those announcements. I have a close friend that just found out that they are pregnant. They didn't realize they were and they are 4 months along. That was super hard to take. I've had to work through some stuff on my own, but it's gotten better. Hugs to you and I hope you feel better soon!

Well, today I feel like junk. After 18 months of TTC, I was just diagnosed with PCOS yesterday. My doctor won't put me on metformin - she says that my best bet is to lose 60 pounds. So I feel fat AND full of cysts lol.
On the other hand, I signed up for Weight Watchers, so I feel a little proactive - I have something to focus on!

@redsmarties: What?!?! It took them 18 months to figure that out??? And while I agree that losing weight is a good idea, even just for the sake of general health, but she won't even consider metformin? Really?

@redsmarties: so sorry about your diagnosis and your doctor not being great. Weight watchers is great. I am doing it right now if you need some support

@Grace: She is a nurse practitioner, rather than a doctor, and for some reason, she claims that metformin doesn't work. Or she doesn't like the side effects. Or something like that. I don't really know - I was too shell-shocked to ask more than once.
@sslm: Hooray for Weight Watchers buddies! I haven't done it since they started the new PointsPlus program, so its definitely a learning curve. 34 points (my allowance) sounds like a TON!

@redsmarties: So I lost 20 lbs using the old system, gained it back, and now I am down 15 lbs on the new system. At first I thought I wouldn't like it, but I love zero point fruit! I feel like the new plan really encourages you to make the healthier choice.

@redsmarties: 18 months to figure out you have PCOS??! That's crazy! You must be so frustrated! I'm sorry. My PC dr doesn't have good feelings about metformin either, so your NP isn't alone in her feelings. The side effects are supposed to be pretty nasty for some people, but I seem to remember reading that it doesn't have any increase on the likely hood of multiples like taking clomid would (I'm terrified of the one in ten chance of twins on clomid! One of the reasons I'm putting off trying it!). Good for you starting WW! I asked dr if loosing weight might help, she said that 50% is the magic number, that as long as you are less than 50% over your ideal body weight, it shouldn't impact fertility. Not sure what your dr gave you as a goal weight, but you might want to use that as a good estimate for where you should try to get to. So for some who is 5'6" , that would be <190lbs. Are you doing WW online or the meetings? I've always been too scared of the meetings!
I'm excited today because 10 days after finishing the provera (10mg twice a day for 5 days), AF has arrived! Woohoo! 91 days since my last one :\ I'm going to start using the cheap OPK starting on day 5 and see if I can get anything. How long before you give up on a cycle? Like if I get to day 30 without a positive strip, do you stop? My acupuncturist is away this week and next week, so I'm debating seeing one of the other practitioners there just because I feel like the next 2 weeks are super important when you only have a few chances each year like I do with these crazy cycles.

@redsmarties: Maybe do some research on your own? My SIL took metformin (I think in combo with weight loss), and she conceived within a couple of months. It was like a magic drug.

@mrs. bird: See, at this point, I'm game for multiples, lol, as long as it means that I have a kid. Goal weight for my height is about 140 lbs, so while losing 20 might get me to the 50%, I'm using this as a chance to go for broke and lose it all. I'm doing the online Weight Watchers - they don't have meetings in my small town, and I probably wouldn't go anyways!
@Grace: yeah, I'm definitely researching. If weight loss doesn't help on its own, then I will see a different doctor. I'm being transferred from an NP to a doctor in October, so he might have different views.

@mrs. bird: Oh, and HOORAY for AF after Provera! Long cycles are the WORST. I usually wait until CD30-35 before giving up on a cycle, but that's because my cycles can be about 60 days long. I'd keep going until you get frustrated - when you DO ovulate, does it usually come fairly early? What does your doctor think?

@sslm: Hooray for 0 point fruit - I'm loving my bowl of cherries right now. I also really like the recipe creator online - I'm a baker, so I can input the recipes I have to find out points, and then see where i should adapt them. So fun!

@Jennimac - My BF just found out she is pregnant and she is the only person I could be happy for. The ones that hurt the most are the people that post on FB and my due date was the same time or even before. Oh well, I need to stay positive. First signs of CM changes today and my temps have leveled out so I'm hopeful. Yesterday was just a bad day, thank you so much for your support.

@redsmarties: yes I've seen your blog!! You definitely create some yummy looking things

I am officially glum. One of my girlfriends told me she was pregnant today and she's only a week ahead of what I would be this month if the stupid stick would be positive. Would have been so fun to have kiddos so close in age.

@Grace: I'm really sorry. Pregnancy announcements are so hard, especially when they're close to you. Hope things get better.

@alison206: I get you! I completely do. Yay for CM!!!! And yay for temps leveling out!!!!
@Grace: It's hard to take the pregnancy announcements. Hugs!!!

@redsmarties: @Jennimac: @sslm: Aww, I like you guys! Well, I've been to the gym, which means that I haven't been able to think for the past hour. And now, I'm feeling better. After all, our kids will still be close in age even if I don't get preggers for another six months. And that's exciting!
How are you ladies doing!
pomelo / 5073 posts
@Grace: That's the positive attitude!!! We had some friends find out they are pregnant a couple of weeks ago; turns out they are 4 months pregnant with a little boy and just didn't know she was pregnant. I was soooooo upset when I found out. Their kids will be 10 years apart and I felt so bad when they told us. I couldn't help thinking, "Why can't this be me?!?" or "Why does their baby get to live when ours didn't?!?" I know, totally awful thoughts to have about a friend. Well, now I'm actually doing much better about everything. Hubby made the best point ever. Hopefully, we will get pregnant soon and regardless, our kids will grow up with each other. They are the closest friends that will have kids close to our kids age. So, I got over my selfish self and I'm super happy for them. Now, it is still hard when we were shopping for clothes for her today because she is super showing and nothing fits. : / That was difficult hearing a ba-jillion times today that she's pregnant, nothing fits.
cantaloupe / 6730 posts
@Jennimac: Oh, I think that's perfectly understandable. On the one hand, I'd say not to beat yourself up about it. On the other, life is a lot sweeter when you can be happy for other people even when your life isn't going as planned.
cantaloupe / 6397 posts
I'm so glad I don't have any friends getting pregnant... and from what I've been told, no one wants any for a while... I don't know how you guys deal with all of these announcements!!!
pomelo / 5073 posts
@sslm: Be very happy....when I go back to work, there is another lady I work with that was a month behind me, so she will be all big and pregnant when we are back at school. : /
