Most of my friends and family say they are happy about closing up shop but I know two people who had serious regret a few years later...my mom and my coworker. My coworker tried getting a reversal but it didn't work!
Do you know people with regret about getting permanent birth control?

I don't personally know of anyone who had permanent birth control (I probably do know people who have, they just haven't shared that with me!).
I know personally I wouldn't want DH or me to get anything permanent done for several years after we decide we are done, just in case. At that point, though, I feel like I'll be getting so old we won't have to worry, but I hear that's a common cause of late in life surprise babies

I wouldn't get tubal ligation because of the surgery aspect and the fact that revearsals are extremely risky to a future pregnancy (hard tog et pregnant) and revearsals many times don't work.
My husband is seriously considering a vasectomy when we're done because
it is non-invasive
doesnt affect hormones at all
is easily reversed (and by that I mean it costs maybe 2,500 dollars but the chances of the reversal working are higher)
Our aunt and uncle just reversed his vasectomy about 2 years ago after having 2 kids. She got pregnant twice after the reversal (miscarried, for unrelated reasons).

I know one person who reversed their vasectomy.
I relly want SO to get a vasectomy when we are done. Tubal ligation is more expensive and risky......

My husband plans on getting a vasectomy. He really wants to be one and done, but I'd like to wait 2 years after DS is born before we actually go through with it.

DH is going to get a vasectomy once we are done. I don't want to be on BC forever. Most of the men in my family have had one and none regret it.

As soon as this baby bean is out of me we are both closing up shop. 2 surprise pregnancies out of 3 is more than enough for us. PLues first surprise bay was DS, I was on the pill. 2nd surprise baby is this one and I had a IUD in (though we found out after they tried to remove it that it fell out at some point) so birth control isn't our friend

My sister just got a reversal and is pregnant again! She had her tubes tied after her third child, then a few years later remarried. Her now husband wanted a baby, so she did the procedure and a few months after got pregnant. She's due in September.

I considered it momentarily when my OB asked me about it. I had a scheduled c-section and he asked me if I'd like my tubes tied since he was already going in. I said I wasn't sure. He said "If you're not 100000% sure, I wouldn't do it." Even though I know we're "two and through", I guess you just never know. I didn't want to do anything that I would regret.

I think my friend regrets it. She only wanted two kids so she had them tie her tubes during her planned c-section. Now her husband has mentioned a few times that if the first baby was as laid back as the second they probably would have had more.

my mom had her tubes tied after she had my brother and sister. She didn't regret it because she knew she was done. She had me and the twins, and she was 38!
