We aren't strict with TV around my son. I think nothing of putting the Today show on while he's playing. After watching the news these past few days this thought occurred to me. The news is probably the most inappropriate show that he could see, full of violence and horrible tragedies.

After the Orlando shooting, I asked our nanny if her kids ever asked questions about news stories like that. She said her kids never see the news. My LO never pays attention unless it's a cartoon with a catchy theme song, but today I swear he was watching Rahm Emmanuel speak on the morning news today.

What's your policy on TV news when your child is present? I also listen to NPR in the car, I've done it for many years. That may need to change.
