@Mrs. Jacks: I did ask about that and it definitely could have played a role. I actually ended up developing at least moderate OHSS and was even in the ED last week (2 days after the embryo transfer) for IV fluids and ended up on Lovenox since my blood had become concentrated. I ended up gaining about 12 lbs of fluid in my abdomen and luckily that resolved on its own without additional intervention and my labs finally went back to normal and the end of last week. All in all, it has been a rough go both physically and emotionally and I knew a few days ago in my own mind that things would not go our way this time around. But we are lucky to have 10 frozen embryos waiting for their chance, so we'll get back to another try sometime in the fall or winter, I think. And the good thing about a frozen embryo transfer is that there is no chance of OHSS so hopefully I will be in much better physical shape next time around.
Thanks so much for all your thoughts and hugs! TTC is such an emotional roller coaster no matter what stage of the game you are at. It is great to have a compassionate community to share the ride with. Xoxo!

@Alivoo01: I read somewhere, being hardcore Type A myself, that there was a study about the ladies that "let nature take its course" and ladies that go all out - OPKs, temping, stress about it, ETC. In the study, they found that there is no change in the length of time it took to conceive; but those that lived overall stressful lives took longer to conceive. It basically said that stress affects fertility, but stress about TTC doesn't affect length of time to conceive. Might be a bunch of crap, but hey, it gives me peace of mind about being crazy about temping and OPKing and all that stuff hahahah.

@dharmainitiative: My doc said the same thing about stress being the #1 reason couples without fertility issues don't conceive quickly. Personally I don't think OPKs and temping don't make me more stressed than I'd already be about the whole process.. on the contrary, I like having more information!
@GreenThumb: holy moly, that sounds AWFUL. I'm so so so sorry. And hopefully one of your 10 embys will stick next time. HUGS HUGS HUGS.

Stupidly POAS way earlier than I should have ... BFN, no surprise there.
apricot / 368 posts
@JoJoGirl: Agreed with that 100%!
@MrsCastro: I did not have any of those symptoms coming off of BC...I'm sorry! I am very pro B-complex for energy and effects on luteal phase =) If you do take JUST B6, be sure you're taking less than 100 mg per day. Greater than that has been linked to birth defects. It usually comes in like 10-20 mg in a B-complex or multivitamins, so don't worry about ODing on it haha. Here's an article about B6 =) http://www.livestrong.com/article/492923-will-too-much-vitamin-b-6-cause-birth-defects/
@Arden: Congratulations!!!!!!!!! =)
@aprk: So sorry about BFN =(

I think I ovulated last night or this morning, so it looks like I'll be POAS in July after all. July 26 is probably my POAS date. Last night after we did the deed, I was doing the "lay with your hips propped up, legs in the air, trying to stop all leakage" dance and occupied myself by watching A Baby Story that was focused on this woman's awful labor. I kept thinking, "Am I really jumping through all of these hoops and following all these old wive's tales just so I can do THAT?!?" I've now cut myself off watching A Baby Story post-sex.

@mrs. bird: Haha! I think he just thinks my insanity is charming. I only do that for the days right around ovulation, but he usually helps me get all situated and brings me the remote and teases me only a weee bit!
@JoJoGirl: It's pretty ridiculous that it's still on. I never watched it much until we started TTC, but now it's a train wreck I just can't look away from!
bananas / 9628 posts
@Mrs. Blue: maybe you could switch to 'bringing home baby', that one seems less scary since you get to skip the whole birth part:) I don't know if that's on anymore, but I used to like it better

Oh dear. I just read somewhere that bleeding gums is a symptoms of early pregnancy?? Has anyone ever heard of this? That happened to me *twice* this week (at night) and has never happened in my life. I assumed something was wrong and have a dentist appointment in a few weeks. Why why why did I just see that. Has anyone ever heard of this or is the universe trying to make symptom spotting totally unbearable for me?
