@Trailmix: Ohh sorry I mis-read your previous post about testing "next Saturday". I hope you get a BFP this weekend!

Thanks for the welcomes! I'm 7dpo today and reading all your POAS plans, not sure when to start...was planning to wait til 10dpo (Thursday) but everyone seems to do it earlier and later also I started freaking out today cause I feel like maybe I'm having boob soreness? But I spent 2 hours bra shopping yesterday so maybe they just aren't that used to being jostled around
When do you all usually POAS? Maybe I should do a formal poll..

So @bluestriped bee did this on the last thread so I figured I'd start it this time! Since people are already planning to POAS this weekend, I figured I'd create it now! So here's a list of when people plan to POAS:
May 10 - JoJoGirl
May 12 - Trailmix
May 19 - eastcoaster
May 24 - PBandBaseball
May 27 - Mrs.Someone
June 1 - hergreenapples
June 2 - Adira
June 2 - PastaAndPotato
June 7 - bluestriped bee

@JoJoGirl: I think it depends. Some people start testing around 9DPO, but others try to wait until after AF is supposed to arrive. For me, seeing a BFN is more disappointing than just having AF show up, so I've been waiting until after AF is late... which means I've literally only POAS once. AF usually shows up right on time for me. Also, I always plan to test on a Saturday, so my POAS date is always the Saturday after AF is due, just because I don't want to test and then have to go to work, haha. But I think I'm the only weird one like that.

@JoJoGirl: When I first started TTC I would POAS starting at 10 DPO. The BFNs were really discouraging and they get expensive, so I wait until AF is late now. I really think it depends on how you think you would handle getting negative tests. I hope that you get only BFPs though!!

Whoop sorry I guess I should've jumped into the early May thread- it seemed to be slowing down already! Well AF isn't due til May 14th so I'll test on the 10th but probably won't really confirm til next week

@Adira: could you add me? POAS on june 2 (hope it's a good day for both of us)
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@PastaAndPotato: Added!
@JoJoGirl: We don't mind you with us! Maybe you'll be our first BFP!
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
@adira @pbandbaseball- thanks for that!! Yeah I can see how testing early would get old after a while. I went through like 6 of those cheap Internet strips just in cycle 1 hope you both get your BFPs this time!!!!!

Seeing this thread is making me so freaking excited!!!! We start trying this cycle, I ovulate around the last day of May/first of June.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@JoJoGirl: haha, now I wish I HAD tested though because I have a couple pregnancy tests that have expired! Now I'm too scared to use them because I'm afraid they'll give me a false positive! I'm thinking if AF ever IS late, I'll use one of my expired test and if it's positive, immediately use a NEW test to confirm. And if it's negative, I'll wait a few more days to see if AF shows up before using a new test. Or... maybe I should just throw them out so they don't freak me out, haha.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Arden: Ooooh, that's exciting!!! I hope you're in that percentage of people that get pregnant first cycle trying!
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
@Adira: omg they expire?!? Good to know!! I figure I'll just test and test on the cheap strips and if anything looks suspicious, use one of the digitals. We will see. I'm sure I won't be able to wait past Thursday anyway, especially with this sore boob development.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@JoJoGirl: haha, yes, they do! I have two digital tests that have expired. The wrapper around the test has the expiration date, though the cheap ones may just have the expiration date on the box. Usually they are good for at least a year, so I'm sure you're fine. I bought mine a while ago when I was still on birth control because I missed a period (for apparently no reason).
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
Good to know. I have some old ones laying around for the same reason, so I should double check. Hopefully this will be your lucky cycle
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@JoJoGirl: Thank you! I hope so as well! Hopefully we have LOTS of BFPs on this thread!

@Adira: You can put me down for POAS on June 7th. That's when AF comes. I'm sure I'll POAS before then.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@bluestriped bee: Done! I hope you have better luck this time around!
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@Adira: Thanks. I hope so, too! I hope we can get the SA results soon. Depending on the results, my OB/Gyn said we could try an IUI.
Thanks for starting the list! It's so helpful for other people to see when everyone else is testing.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@bluestriped bee: I agree! I love the list and I hope I do as good a job with it as you did! Do you know when you're expecting the results from the SA? Hopefully you don't have to wait too long!!
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@Trailmix: @JoJoGirl: I see you guys are testing soon. Not that I want to take you from this awesome thread but have you checked out the Early May POAS thread? It's still early and we have already 5 (or 6) BFPs, so far! I'm on both threads because AF came for me over the weekend. This and the other thread are very active.
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@Mrs.Someone: Oh, I have to tell you that it was great idea to create this thread to include late may and early June POAS-ers.
pear / 1650 posts
@bluestriped bee: hi! So just out of curiosity and because I don't want to creepily stalk backthreads: how many cycles usually before IUDs are considered? We are on cycle 7 right now. That thought has crossed my mind but we haven't discussed it yet with gyn. As of now I am getting FSH and Progesterone tested this thurday, and then again on CD3, and husband is getting an SA. (he still has to book appointment and I'm having him make it for AFTER may 10 once I either get or DON'T get AF)
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@MrsLilybugg: I'm not sure how many cycles. My dr suggested IUI because the DH takes medication which might reduced his sperm count, so an IUI might help us. I'm waiting on the SA to know if we will proceed. I would talk to your doctor, though. It doesn't hurt to ask. I know I was afraid my doctor would turn me away for asking too soon, but luckily she was really supportive.

@bluestriped bee - Glad you approve! Its all because I'm somewhere inbetween
@Adria - Add me on for 5/27 (ish)!
Though I have an annual OB appointment on 5/22, so there is a slight chance for good news then. Purposely scheduled for later in my TWW
pear / 1650 posts
@bluestriped bee: OK that does make sense. good luck on his results!!!! I am nervous for my DH's. We'll see!!
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
@Adira: Thanks for the list! I'll let you know my date as soon as I O. With my last 2 cycles being 40-50 days long, I'm really REALLY hoping I O earlier this time. I'm only CD 3 right now.
@Arden: Yay, so exciting!!!
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Mrs.Someone: Added!
@lilteacherbee: Eeek, those are long! Was cycle 2 at least shorter than cycle 1??
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
@Adira: Nope cycle 1 off BC was 44 days and cycle 2 was 50. I O'd 4 days later on cycle 2, but my LP also lengthened by 2 days (which I was hoping for).
I've been off the pill since the end of January and I just started my second "real" AF. So frustrating, but I've started charting this time around, so hopefully that will help me figure things out.
grapefruit / 4703 posts
@lilteacherbee: Were you taking B6? Do you think that's why you O'ed later? Good job on lengthening that LP - that's my goal for the month
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@lilteacherbee: Oh yuck! Well hopefully this cycle will be shorter, but with a good LP length! Fingers crossed for you!
cantaloupe / 6791 posts
@Rachel: Yep, I was taking B6, but when I got to about CD 30 with no O, I started getting worried that it was delaying O. I stopped taking it and I O'd on CD 39. Then I took the B6 (100 mg) from after O until AF. Fingers crossed for you!
@Adira: Thanks! And good luck to you too!
hostess / wonderful apple seed / 16729 posts
@Mrs.Someone: Yeah, I realize that it's kind of hard to figure out if you are early or late May or June, if you test in the middle.
Next month, if I get a BFN, I'll start a thread for POAS for all of July.
apricot / 461 posts
@Adira: Yes it is fun to start trying. Of course my husband has now been sent out of town for work (we've been married since June and he hasn't been out of town until 2 weeks ago)! What timing! He'll get back on Thursday on CD 10 though and probably won't have to go out of town for a couple weeks again, so we should have an okay shot. If he does go out of town we'll only have CDs 10-14 for BDing. My cycles are usually 26-28 days (average ~26.8) and I'm using OPKs so that should help. AF would be due on the 26th-28th. I will probably try to wait to POAS until the 27th (Sunday) but knowing me, I will not be able to wait until then and will probably give in and test on the 25th (Friday).
For now please put me down on the list to POAS on the 27th! Thanks! So excited for everyone here! This is fun!
@Arden: Super excited to see you here! We were going to wait until next month (as I'd told you on a previous thread) but we are starting now!! Good luck on your first cycle!!

Ok ladies, add me to this group! I'll be testing June 10th. This will be our first cycle officially trying! Yahoo! A few months before we planned but hey... why wait
clementine / 854 posts
Add me too! I'm not exactly sure when I'm be testing though. This is my fourth month off of BC, and my cycles are still erratic. 48 days, 29 days (thought I was back to normal...wrong), 35 days, now I'm on CD 13, so we shall see! This is my first month using OPK's though, so I'm hoping that'll help.
