TWW - POAS Late May/Early June

@Trailmix: Aw, I'm sorry I hope your dr will be able to help. My LP the first month off BC was 9 days. I took 100 mg of B6 the next cycle from the day after O until AF (I was worried about the B6 delaying O since my cycle was really long anyway) and it increased my LP to 11 days.

Good morning! Today is CD 18 & I'm back to a high reading on the CBEFM. Time for the TWW!

I'm ready for all of us to get our BFPs!!

@Adira: I'm not really sure when I usually ovulate, but I will find out this month. I'm not totally opposed to driving and hour and a half to visit my husband if I have to (and an hour and a half back). We can BD on Monday at 0500 before he leaves then I could visit him Tuesday evening if I have to!! The only awkward part will be kicking his new apprentice (starting this Monday) out of the hotel room (that they are sharing) for a while!! Maybe I'll ovulate on Sunday... CD13.. no way to tell now. Hubby just got home for the weekend, so I'm off to have a good time (**wink**wink**) for the weekend!!

Already feeling a bit nervous about this cycle, and I haven't even O'd yet! It should happen today or tomorrow. We haven't been able to have sex since Monday though since I was sick one night, then DH got some sad news last night. Tonight we'll be out of town though, so I'll make sure it happens! Still haven't gotten a positive OPK yet, so hoping we still have a few chances... And my temps are all over the place since I've been sick, so who knows whats going on!

    How is everyone else doing?

So new POAS date is Sunday, June 3...Damn, that feels soooo far away But that's assuming my luteal phase is longer than 8 days, which it has not been the last two cycles...

You guys, I am seriously freaking out, imagining us going through years of fertility treatments and maybe not ever being able to have a baby, which would be pretty devastating...I wouldn't care so much about not getting pregnant if my cycles were normal but they're so short (2 22-day cycles, LP was 8 and 7 days respectively) and I feel like, broken or something and so so so depressed...Such a bad mindset, can anyone help me work through this?? I might go see a therapist or something, it's been like, all-encompassing the past few days...

@Trailmix - We all know how frustrating the uncertainty is, but I promise, there is no reason to worry for a while! I have found comfort in the statistics. Check out this site:

    http://www.babymed.com/getting-pregnant/what-are-the-odds-conceiving-conception

85% of couples will conceive within a year. Also, I've noticed on the polls here on HB, 1-3 months is the most common. So just keep telling yourself that the odds are in your favor! Especially if you're a generally healthy person, things should be fine.

@Mrs.Someone: I'm just creeping this thread since there isn't one yet for Mid/Late June lol But, wanted to say thanks for the link. That is reassuring.

    pomelo / 5228 posts

@Crisark - glad to help! I'm an over-Googler And as far as I'm concerned, all of June can be in this thread, seems that we usually only have one that us super-active at a time anyway.

Okay, well I guess I need to go on the list here twice since I'm not sure what "early June" is

I'm out for May CD1. Baaaaah.

Can we keep me in for this thread though since I think my next test will happen around June 8? Depends on when I O but that's a late estimate...

WHY am I so bummed. Ugh.

  10. Trailmix

    nectarine / 2152 posts

@mrs.someone Thanks so much for that link, it did somehow make me feel so much better!

@jojogirl RIGHT?!?! This was only our first real month of trying and I literally cried for an hour when AF showed, even though I had spent the last week mentally preparing for it and thought I'd be fine...Maybe June will be our month! At least your LP was decently long (right? I think you said that in the other thread) so hopefully this time is the right one!

  11. JoJoGirl

    cantaloupe / 6206 posts

@Trailmix: This was our second month trying but first using OPKs so I'm trying to tell myself it's actually our first month (our real first month was 37 days long so I think we BDd a full week too early). I always read people say how emotional it is but still wasn't prepared. AF came 5 days early (I thought 4 in the other thread but hard to predict since cycle 1 was 37 days, then I Od on CD15.. so confusing this cycle was only 25 days long).

But yes, 10 day LP, I read online it's considered "short" if it's below 10? I don't know. I guess we'll just see what happens next month.

    grape / 86 posts

@JoJogirl: wow, I am also in my 2nd month of trying ... last month my period came 4 days late which is not typical. And this month, it came today, at day 25 (I'm ususally 28-29 days). I am really bummed too =( Even though I try to tell myself not to obsess over it and to just relax, I can't.

I have a 15 month old son and it took 12 months for us to get prego with him. I don't want to take another 12/13 months !!!! I want it now !!! I am an older mom too, so I don't have time on my side...

@Podomama: So strange, huh? We're on exactly the same schedule! Hoping it won't take either of us too long

  14. Trailmix

    nectarine / 2152 posts

@lilteacherbee Thanks for the tip and helpful story re: lengthening the LP, I'm definitely going to ask my dr if I should do that on Monday! Hoping this cycle is the one for you!

@Jojogirl Totally hear you on the cycle day confusion and frustration...I've only been charting two cycles but they were both 22 days long and the LP was only 8 and 7 days, so that...sucks

@podomama Sorry AF showed up but hopefully next cycle will be a more normal length for you!

  15. eastcoaster

    olive / 73 posts

@Trailmix: Your story really resonates w/ me. AF showed for me too I'm right there with you w/ 2 cycles charting, and my LP went from 7 days to 6, ugh! My GYN said to wait 6 months off BCP before she'd start any interventions.

  16. Trailmix

    nectarine / 2152 posts

@eastcoaster It's very unsettling, isn't it, to have such an irregularity in our cycles? I have an appt with my dr tomorrow and I'm definitely going to bring it up and see what he thinks about taking a B6 supplement (as suggested above by lilteacherbee) and I'm going to mention how worried I am about it, so I'll be sure to come back here and update you with what he says...Were you on a BCP before starting to chart? I'm really hoping that this is still lingering effects of being on the pill for 7+ years, I've now been off it almost 50 days but I've heard it can take several months before your body normalizes...

  17. JoJoGirl

    cantaloupe / 6206 posts

Acupuncture appointment number 2 on Wednesday to assist with the whole normalizing-my-cycles-after-BCP. I was also on for 10 years, off for 2 cycles, so I'm with you guys! I am starting to chart temps this cycle too in addition to OPKs. Next time I'll be testing is the weekend of my brother's wedding.. I promise no announcements of any bfps to them though!

I'm CD 14 today ladies. I was supposed to start having sex every day starting yesterday, but we didn't get around to it. Hopefully we'll start today. Although I haven't seen much fertile CM so I'm a little concerned I'm not going to ovulate at my normal time. Guess we'll see though.

@JoJoGirl: @Trailmix: @eastcoaster: Sorry to hear that AF has showed up on you ladies. Hopefully your next cycle more eventful!

@Trailmix: So unsettling! Thanks for keeping me in the loop, I hope your appt. today goes well. I have another call into my dr. for the nurse to call me back. I was also on BCP for almost 11 years (ugh) so I'm wondering if that has something to do w/ this. Hope we can get answers soon!

@JoJoGirl: Accupunture is sounding so appealing to me now...how was your first time? What does it help with, could it extend the LP length?

  22. JoJoGirl

    cantaloupe / 6206 posts

@Adira: Thanks for bumping me down the list I guess it's more helpful to see my name on a new date instead of the dreaded 'AF arrived' for this month, huh? Heehee. And CD14, that's exciting!!! Are you using OPKs?

@eastcoaster: I've actually gotten a lot of acupuncture through the years to help with other issues and always absolutely love it. It's been best for pain, stress, and sleep for me. My friend who recommended this acupuncturist got preggo at 39 with no other interventions (and also induced her labor with AP) so I always said when we were ready to TTC, I'd make an appointment right away. Last month was my first ever fertility-related appointment. I really love it and think it does wonders in regulating hormones and whatnot. My first cycle off BCP was 37 days long with who knows when I Od. I saw her on CD7 of my 2nd cycle and got a positive OPK on CD15, which already felt a lot more 'regular' than my first cycle. The whole cycle was only 25 days long, but I still believe it's already helping. She says best times to go are week 1 and week 2 to support ovulation but I'm sure it could help with lengthening LP as well.. but you're better off getting a consultation to get info from someone directly.

Either way I'll (obviously) report back on my progress as I continue to see her!

  25. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

@JoJoGirl: I haven't been using OPKs. For the last four months, my cycle has been pretty regular and I've been ovulating between CD 15 and CD 17. This cycle seems wonky though because I was expecting to see some EWCM by now and I haven't seen any yet. I'm thinking that might mean I'm going to ovulate later than I was expecting, but I'll try to start having sex today (or tomorrow) and everyday after to hopefully time things correctly.

@Trailmix: I hope that your appointment goes well today & that you're able to get some answers.

@Adira: Thank you for keeping the list updated! We used a CBEFM this month for the first time & my peak days were actually the two days after I had EWCM, so maybe starting today will work better for you anyway?

@JoJoGirl: I think I might try acupuncture next cycle after reading about your experience with it. It can't hurt!

  27. PBandBaseball

Today is 5 or 6 DPO of cycle 14 for me and I feel fine. No symptoms that I can tell. I've thought about going to that TWW symptom website but I am really trying to hold off for now. We met with my doctor on Friday and he confirmed that the SA & HSG results were both perfectly fine. I now have a prescription for Clomid that I'll start on CD 3 if we don't get a BFP this month. We're going to try 1 cycle (maybe 2) with the Clomid and then go to the RE if that doesn't work.

  28. JoJoGirl

    cantaloupe / 6206 posts

@Adira: Ah yeah, if you're that regular then no need. I don't chart so always forget people do

@PBandBaseball: That's what I figure, definitely won't hurt, and could make a difference! I'll let you all know how things go on Wednesday.

Happy Monday everyone! My hubby is back out of town for the week. Luckily I got a positive OPK on Saturday AM, so hopefully his being out of town for work didn't mess things up too much! So right now I'm 2 DPO and I'm starting to understand why the TWW sucks!

  30. Trailmix

    nectarine / 2152 posts

@eastcoaster Had my appt with gyn this morning and feel so much better, I think you should call your dr and just explain what's going on and that you really (really) would like a consultation. My gyn seems to think that I was actually ovulating possibly upwards of 6 days earlier than FF thought! Anyways, we now have a plan and some of my anxiety is relieved, so I'm very glad I called because I definitely expected him to just tell me to wait another 4 months before he'd see me...

  31. Trailmix

    nectarine / 2152 posts

@dr pepper Fingers crossed for you!

@pbandbaseball Thanks, it really helped a lot, am very glad I made the appt! Hope the wait isn't too bad!

Hey ladies- Just checking in. I'm on CD10. My fertile period starts this saturday and I should O on the 24th. The good news is that I'll be in San Francisco during my fertile period. Woohoo! It will be a nice change of pace. The bad news is that DH got his SA results back and it was abnormal. Everything is good except morophology. The fertility clinic would like to see us for a consultation but the next availability won't be until we get back. I'm crossing my fingers that someone cancels so we can be seen this week before we leave for San Fran. I've been really quiet since we found out the SA results. I've been trying to stay positive while TTC but with the SA results, it's really hard to do that. I'm fine with intervention but was hoping we could do it naturally. Ugh!

Well, I'm hoping this thread is a good thread for BFP!! Wishing you all luck!

  34. Adira

    wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts

OMG - I have no idea what my body is doing! This morning I had a temp spike and I'm ASSUMING it's just a wonky temp, but Fertility Friend thinks I may have ovulated already! WTF!

I'm going to just have to assume that it's wrong because I've had ZERO indication that I would ovulate FOUR DAYS EARLY, so I'm assuming I haven't yet, but I guess I can't really know for sure until I see what tomorrow's temp looks like. Hopefully it's back down! If I did ovulate already, then I've already missed my window of opportunity, so I really hope that's not the case! TTC is stressful.

@bluestriped bee: So sorry to hear about your husband's SA results! Do you know what morphology is? What does that mean for you guys?? It's good that you didn't wait for a year to go by before getting tested though! At least you know something's up NOW. Hopefully you'll still be able to conceive naturally, regardless. And hopefully you have good luck on your San Fran trip!

  35. Trailmix

    nectarine / 2152 posts

@bluestriped bee I'm sorry you got some bad news about the SA but I'm pretty sure I read on another thread someone's husband had gotten similar results (low morphology but everything else was good) and her doctor said that of the three, morphology is the least one to worry about and that the other two are significantly more important in conceiving (and that it is definitely still very possible to get pregnant naturally even with low morphology)...Obviously, it's a less than ideal situation but thought that might make you feel a little bit better!

  36. sslm

@bluestriped bee: So sorry about the results again. I hope you feel a bit better after you have your consult at the fertility center!!

I POAS today and it was definitely negative. I think I'm 12 dpo. Expecting AF by Friday. Probably testing on Thursday!

Sorry to hear about your negative test! It's not over until AF shows up and hopefully she stays away!!!

@Trailmix: Glad your appt. went well! I did call and have an appt. w/ my dr. in 2 weeks. Would've been sooner but due to me and DH's work schedules & going out of town, the soonest we could get is in 2 weeks. Did your dr. say anything about adding B6 after O? Thoughts on that it just takes awhile after BCP to even things out? (I know that everyone's situation is different, just wondering what yours said :)).

  40. PBandBaseball

    clementine / 861 posts

@Trailmix: I'm glad that you're doctor was able to give you some good information & that you've got a plan now.

@bluestriped bee: I am so sorry that the SA results weren't what you hoped they'd be. I know that other people have said it and it probably doesn't help how you're feeling but of the 3 sperm characteristics, morphology is the "least concerning" according to my doctor. Your trip to SF should be a lot of fun!

@Adira: Oh no! Hopefully FF is wrong and you're still good for this cycle! It wouldn't be the first time that FF showed an incorrect O day.

Today is 8 DPO & I had some cramping while I was driving in to work this morning. I thought I was starting for sure which was really upsetting. So far AF hasn't shown, so I'm still a little hopeful. We'll see what happens . . .
