@eastcoaster: Basically, my doctor looked at my past two cycle charts and felt that I might actually be ovulating around Day 8 (there was a dip around Day 8 on both charts) rather than on Day 14 or 15 like FF thought! So, he recommended OPK testing starting on Day 6 and also BD too, for at least a week! He said to try this for three months and if it still hasn't happened, then he'll refer us to a specialist, if we want...He also said that the 22-day cycle is not something to be worried about (it's on the low end of the normal range) and the fact that I was actually ovulating was a good sign...He said it's possible that my cycle may lengthen over time but did not mention anything about a LP defect. I have read that an LPD is often debated by doctor's as being a 'real' thing or not, so maybe he's in the 'not' camp? Since he didn't mention an LP defect, I didn't bring up the B6 supplements (although now I kinda wish I had but oh well). Hope this is somewhat helpful, I think you'll feel a lot better after your dr's appt, definitely bring in your printed out charts, if you're charting!
@sslm I do chart my CM and while it matched up with the original O dates FF was giving me, I have read that you can definitely get EWCM after ovulation and since my cycles seem to be kind of 'atypical' compared to the textbook 28-day baseline cycle, I wonder if that's what happened? Either way, we're going to start OPKing and BDing a week earlier than we were the last two cycles and see what happens!

@PBandBaseball: Thanks for the encouragement! I'm trying to hold onto hope. If FF is right, I ovulated on CD 12 which would have been REALLY early for me and I definitely didn't have any cervical mucus to correspond with that. Even now, CD 15, I'm just seeing creamy CM, and barely any at that. I think Hubs and I are just going to start having sex tonight and hopefully every night and hope for the best.
Hopefully you're cramping for an entirely DIFFERENT reason than AF on her way! Hopefully she stays away entirely!!!

@Trailmix: Thank you so much for providing all that, I appreciate it! I'm really looking forward to my appt in a couple of weeks and I'm definitely going to bring in my charts. I'm glad you have a plan now!!

@Trailmix: Oh wow! I hope your doctor is right and that you're just ovulating early! Hopefully OPKs and your new timing will give you much better results!!! Good luck!!!

@Trailmix: So glad that you were able to talk to your doctor. Let's hope he is right and you get a BFP this month!

@PBandBaseball: That would be AWESOME!!! You guys have been trying for so long that it's your TURN!!! Hopefully that HSG you had earlier is going to be the magic touch! I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you!!

@Trailmix: WOW!! That would be exciting if you were Oing a week early, as in it's an easy problem to solve! Can't wait to see if it works..
@Adira: Hoping for the best for you too
@PBandBaseball: Fingers crossed!

@adria & @trailmix - sorry you both are having confusion on your charts! This is my first month charting and it has definitely been inconclusive. The thing that made most sense for me was really the OPKs and watching my cervix position. Its pretty clear that closed cervix means no swimmers are getting by, so maybe check that?
As for me, I believe I O'd on Sunday, so I'm 2dpo now. My chart is completely inconclusive, though that could be because I had a cold for the first 2 weeks of the month. DH (a forever researcher) thinks that the temping thing is useless! I'm really glad I used OPKs, and still watched my CM and cervix position this month. Otherwise, I would have expected to O a few days earlier like FF first suggested. It still hasn't given me any crosshairs though, so who really knows!

@Adira: @JoJoGirl: Thanks ladies!! Hopefully this cycle will be a big one for the members of this TWW group!

@JoJoGirl: Thanks!
@Mrs.Someone: Thanks! Based on my CM, I really don't think I ovulated yet. usually I see it go from creamy to watery to egg-white, and it's been just creamy, so I think FF is just confused by my wonky temps.
Since this is your first cycle charting, FF really has no clue what's normal for you and is probably just giving you guestimates. Tomorrow, being 3 DPO, it should show you that you ovulated on Sunday, just like you think. You'll have to let us know if it catches up to you or not!

@Mrs.Someone: Whoaaaa.. please elaborate on this watching the cervix position thing?!
My DH also thinks temping is useless with the same 'but what if you're sick' argument (as i was last month and not charting anyway). I used OPKs last month but am starting to temp now too so we'll see what it looks like at the end of the month. Only CD4 now, it all feels so far awaaaaaayyyy!!!

@JoJoGirl - So the best description of it is in the book Taking Charge of Your Fertility. But I found this site that gives a pretty good overview: http://conceivebaby.net/ovulation-and-conception/cervix-position/
The general idea is that the cervix opens up and softens when you're about to ovulate (to let sperm through, and to release CM), and closes when its too late. And the good thing about it is that you can check whenever, like now if you're curious!

@Adira - then you probably haven't. After all, FF is just a computer, you know your body better!

@Mrs.Someone: ah thanks. Fascinating I can check. Ill check out that website, thank you!

JoJoGirl - Glad to help! Just remember it can be confusing learning the signs just like everything else though.
I just wish our uteruses glowed or something when its optimal to make a baby

Hey ladies, I think it's safe to say I'm joining y'all on this thread. The 3 apps I'm using to track my ovulation are all over the board on when I'll POAS, but I think June 16th is the day.

I am in! Guessing sometime around 2nd-3ed week of June. Charting and using OPK this month. I bought the digital OPK too. One month of trying to figure out if the line was darker was enough for me. I should be ovulating around Memorial Day. Which I am in a wedding that weekend, so going to be hard to take OPK. At least my weekly traveling for work hubby will be home an extra day. Fingers crossed that I ovulate while he is home this month!

@Smurfette: I'll probably O around Memorial Day too. Luckily DH and I are going away alone together that weekend!

@Adira: @Smurfette: I'm sad (in a way) that you ladies had to join me. Ha! Have either of you used the CBEFM? I'm wondering if I should splurge on it to up my chances...
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@Alivoo01: I haven't used it, but I'm fairly regular (assuming FF is WRONG about this cycle), so I haven't really needed it.
clementine / 861 posts
@Alivoo01: I used the CBEFM this month for the first time & my peak days were actually 1 & 2 days after I had EWCM, so I'm thinking that I've been wrong with estimating O day in the past. I'm 8 DPO now, but hopefully the FM helped us get a BFP this month!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Alivoo01: I am sad that you are joining us too. I haven't used the CBEFM. It is expensive, although so are the digital OPK, but I can see myself breaking down and buying it after 6 months.....ok, maybe 3
pomegranate / 3895 posts
@Mrs.Someone: I totally agree with you about cervical position..I was actually going to chime in and say that until I saw you already had!
For example, right now I know that O is coming in the next few days as my cervix has gotten really high and difficult to even reach (sorry...TMI). So the position, in combination with BBT and CM, is a really big indicator for me for sure.
wonderful olive / 19353 posts
@PBandBaseball: Did you strictly use the monitor or did you use a digital OPK also?
@Smurfette: haha! I think I'll hold off on buying the CBEFM for one more month. This darn baby making business is expensive even before the kiddo gets here - sheesh!
GOLD / wonderful coconut / 33402 posts
@Alivoo01: I know! I guess it is giving us practice for all those diapers.
clementine / 861 posts
@Alivoo01: I used the CBEFM until I got a peak day reading and then I used the digital OPK to confirm and got a positive. My doctor told me to stop temping because it was generating stress, so I have no idea what my temps would have shown as O day. We had sex 3 days past when we would have stopped with only checking CM because of the FM.

Based on my latest cycle, If I O "on time", I'll POAS 6/15 so count me in!

Girls, I'm not feeling very confident. Temps are up some more today and FF is sticking to her guns that I ovulated on the CD 12 (today, CD 16 was what I was expecting). It's a dotted crosshairs, so it's not definite, but I'm worried that I missed my window anyway. I think Hubs and I are going to continue to have sex the next couple days (today and tomorrow) incase FF is just completely wrong and I ovulate today, which would be what's normal. Ugh! Why is this so complicated??
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
@Adira: Oh man, I'm sorry girl. CD12 is way, way early. Did you guys BD at all in the few days beforehand? Maybe it's not a lost cause..
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@JoJoGirl: We did have sex on CD 11, so I guess there's still a chance, but that was the only day around then. Is it bad I'm hoping that I'm getting sick to explain away the temp rise?
cantaloupe / 6206 posts
@Adira: CD11! Perfect!! If you o'd on CD12 you couldn't have timed it any better than that. Try not to worry - you got CD12 covered AND will cover CD16 just in case, so you're golden.
I like how we are on opposite TWW schedules so we can talk each other off the ledge. Haha.
clementine / 861 posts
@Adira: I'm sorry that FF is showing an earlier O day. I agree that you've got CD12 covered and you'll cover CD16 too! Don't give up on this cycle. You certainly wouldn't be the first person to prove FF wrong.
wonderful pomelo / 30692 posts
@JoJoGirl: @PBandBaseball: Thanks girls! Having you ladies to talk to is sooooooo helpful!!!! Your encouragement is keeping me from freaking out.
@JoJoGirl: I agree about being in the opposite parts of the cycle! It's definitely helpful!

@Adira: Fingers crossed for you either way! I think you've still got a good chance!
I'm at CD 12 just waiting on O. I'm hoping and praying it comes before CD 35-39 this time.
