I was just going thru this!! I pulled out my bag of tricks and nothing worked...rocking, singing, nursing, taking her out for a stroll. She's been up for over four hours and I JUST got her down. She fell asleep in my arms and now I'm too afraid to move and wake her! Hang in there! She WILL eventually sleep!

My LO is 6.5 months and we've been dealing with the same thing! On the worst days, the only thing that works is wearing her and walking around ... with a hat on or the hood on {if she's in the ergo} .. sometimes for a long time. Sometimes she's doesn't sleep the whole time but it does mellow her out a little bit so she's at least not as fussy.

Yesterday she only took two 30-45 minutes naps so Idid our bedtime routine a full hour earlier ... that kind of worked! She woke up a couple hours later but I think that was because of the heat if anything.

@MrsScallop: he doesn't cry much and if he is crying, it's really more of a whimper which i am okay with. if he starts to cry at a more elevated level, then i give the paci to calm him. I tried picking him up today too because someone else suggested the pick up/put down method but i feel like that wakes him up more than anything.

I also tried taking the paci away for a few minutes today for a nap to see if he would stop crying but i am not sure i did it at the right time as he might have been over tired and he just cried more so i gave it back.....i am still figuring out what to do and i figure the first step is just getting him used to falling asleep in his crib before i take away all his crutches!

ETA: i am thinking about getting the No Cry Sleep Solution book to see what it says about pacis etc, but will wait another week or so to see how things go. I've only been doing this for 2 days so far.
