Can anyone recommend a good umbrella stroller, and I mean lightweight, decent canopy, comfortable, and easy fold. We live in Manhattan and need something that easy to fold and carry on and off the subway or buses. Please help!!! Thanks!

I have a UB G-Luxe that folds up really quickly and is super light. I don't live in busy NYC, but i take public transit daily with LO. It also has a big sun shade cover and i like the material for the seat.

@Mammabare: We also live in Manhattan. I am really liking the Mountain Buggy Nano - it's a new stroller, I think it came out in March. We got it for a trip, but it's great around the city too. It folds up very small, though it's not a one-handed fold.

I'm obsessed with my Maclaren XT stoller! It's pricey but you can sometimes find good deals on Craigslist or eBay. It's so sturdy and I do a lot of walking so I know!

The Maclaren Triumph and Volo are also great. I believe the Volo is the lightest of the maclaren bunch, but it doesn't recline. I've had no trouble lugging my Triumph & toddler on and off busses and subways, even while pregnant.

@MrsMccarthy: I loved our Maclaren Techno XT when we lived in NYC.
Maclaren also makes a Globetrotter, I've never used one, but I think it is a step up from the Volo since it reclines and has a canopy.

G-Luxe. I used in London - super easy on transit, and it folds and stands. I like it better than any of the MacLarens that I tried since it's a bit taller in the handles.

Thanks so much for all your responses. I figured it boil down to G Luxe vs Mclaren! Now I just have to see where I can get the best deal!

I'm in the suburbs now, but having lived in NYC I still feel comfortable saying that the G-Luxe is pretty great. It's nice and sturdy for all the use it would get in a city, but also light and super easy to fold down.

@Beehive: I am looking at the nano but I keep hearing of wheel issues! Have you had any problems?

@AprilFool: We have had the wheel locking problem, which we got a kit from Mountain Buggy to fix. It was an easy fix, but frustrating that we had to fix it! I hear the newer Nanos don't have this problem... apart from that annoyance, we are happy with the stroller.

@Beehive: @AprilFool: ooh I literally JUST bought the mb nano today! I got a crazy deal because it was the floor model and only one bbb had. I assume it's from the new batch but I only test drove it in the store, haven't used it outside yet. It folds so easily and so small, it's crazy. Looks like it's out of stock in a lot of places though.

@Foodnerd81: Oh I definitely love the stroller! It's an amazingly easy fold, and it's so slim and compact. Even if the wheel locking thing ends up happening to yours, it's a 5-minute fix - they just send you a new screw to put in. Great that you were able to get a deal on it!

@Beehive: That is frustrating and the one thing that is stopping me from pulling the trigger. I think since I am in Oz that I will not get one of the new Nanos.
@Foodnerd81: I would snap it up if I could get a deal on it, even with the issue but it is over $300 here (so is the Gluxe for comparison).

@AprilFool: I thought Mountain Buggy was in New Zealand or Australia? Wouldn't you get the new ones sooner? Either way, if I end up having the wheel issue I know I can order the fix so I don't really care

i prefer the gluxe over the maclaren quest because it stands when folded and has a much better sunshade.

@Foodnerd81: I didn't know that! A quick google says NZ which just makes me so angry because why are they so much more expensive here then. The Australia tax strikes again. But that might be a good point then

@AprilFool: Just checking back in because I used my MB Nano for the first time today. Oh my god. It's awesome. It pushes SO well for a little stroller and folded up and unfolded so quickly and easily. My UBV is still my primary but this is awesome. If you can get one, I highly recommend it. And it's so easy to pop in the trunk of the car.
That's all. Way too excited about a stroller, as usual.

@Foodnerd81: Yay, I'm glad you like it! We put away our City Mini and only use the Nano now.

@Foodnerd81: ok you have convinced me to take it for another test drive this weekend!
