I have three baby showers for three close friends in the next month. My plan is to get them:
- Oh the places you'll go book
- The giving tree book
(I'm big on starting a library for kids)
- Some clothes (6M+) - genders are known
Anything unique/unusual that you might suggest someone add?

@Meowkers: One doesn't, this is her second child and has everything she said she's reusing from the first.
The other two already have almost everything purchased from their registries.

My group of friends didn't really do the registry thing. So all the gifts were a guessing game!
I 
books for kids! One thing that I like to give babes are Padraig booties. They are so awesome for Canadian winters, especially with Stonz on the outside!

What about a few frames and maybe a $5 gift card to a local photo print shop like Walgreens...
That way it is easy for them to print and frame a few new pictures
New moms have no time and thinking ahead....I would love to have that

I give a big bottle of stain remover spray - I know it will get used! 
One of my shower guests gave me a big pack of batteries for all the toys and gear that require them!

What about a gift certificate to a place where they can get their baby's hand/footprints done as a keepsake? Like one of those nice clay impressions.

What about Tucks pads, witch hazel, nipple cream... the stuff no one thinks to buy but the mom REALLY needs.

@loveisstrange: I did this for a friend who was due three weeks after me. Plus a whole whack of chocolate, late night snacks, a straw water bottle - she said it was her favourite off-registry gift.
