Just curious...how many Upstate NY Bees are there?
And by Upstate I don't mean Westchester or Yonkers, NY!

I'm oringinally from the finger lakes area. Moved south almost 15 years ago. We go back every summer though and my parents have a cottage on keuka lake.

My DH's grandparents are from Skaneateles, DH was born in Syracuse, raised in the Rochester area and lived in Ithaca for a few years. We visit often and would love to move there but with his job it's not a possibility. We might retire there someday though!

I was born in Syracuse! All our family is still there. But we live about an hour west of Philly now.

I'm from (and my heart will always be) in upstate NY. I grew up east of Albany, almost on the Massachusetts border in a teeny town of less than 2,000 people. Went to school in CNY (outside of Utica, Hamilton College) and I can't wait until we move out of the city and somewhere more rural!

DH's grandparents retired to TX 20 or so years ago, and have both since passed. They were Dave and Grace McKnight, though.

While I like to say I'm from Upstate, given everyone's definition of 'Upstate', I now say I'm from 'Northern NY'. I grew up in a town 2hrs north of Syracuse. Live in NC now but we love going back (in the summer) to visit family, etc.

ETA: guess I should define i'm not a WNY native... we only moved here in 2011, via Ohio>Virginia>Maine. Definitely love the area and I hope we settle somewhere around here for good.

i grew up in rochester! moved to so cal about 10+ years ago. now its hard to find anyone who even knows where rochester is so i'm happy to see this thread! i miss wegmans and garbage plates but i def don't miss the weather!

@kodybear: I went to college in Rochester. I miss Wegmans sooooo much living in the south. Everytime we go home we have to stop and just walk around. I'd get groceries if my drive wasn't 8hrs+ after the last Wegmans.

I grew up in Watertown. :O) Buffalo was my home for almost 10 years and I met DH there. We had our wedding at The Little Theatre in Rochester. I live far from there now but my family, friends and a piece of my heart remain in NY!

Sigh, all grocery stores should be like Wegmans. I miss that store!
