Wrapping them up now! I love how easy it is to file online these days...
Are you done with your taxes yet? Did you get a refund?

We officially finished today. The paperwork was done last week but we both had to make some last minute contributions to the IRA's.

We did it early because we wanted the money for a new roof.

we did ours a while back because we wanted to get it over and done before the baby showed up

we did it in jan as soon as his form came in! like artbee said, we needed a car. we got a fantastic refund because I'm a FT student, and a dependent on DH. he is also considered a student even though he's a FT worker because he's an apprentice.

UHHH I might have to file an extension. I'm locked out of the website where I need to go to get my mortgage interest information and I can't get anyone from their tech support to help me! Everything else is finished. We'll get a refund... we almost always do.

We did ours in February because we knew we owed and wanted time to save up. We owed A LOT.

Yes and Yes and it's been spent!
Home renovations....

Ours were done late last week, and we owed about an additional 1k which isn’t too bad at all. We’ve never gotten a refund since getting married; all we get is the financial penalty of being a higher dual-income household in an outdated tax code! (no, I’m not bitter…)

all done and we owed. Hoping with our new addition this year, we won't have to pay next year.

no, we always do an extension since our K1's are never ready this early. we never get a refund so there is no rush!

We did ours about a month ago and got a refund or the first time...I made much less last year bc I transitioned to a less demanding job that paid less and then stopped working the first week of October (baby was born in November). I am now a SAHM so we are hoping we will get a bit of a tax break going forward.

We haven't started but since we live abroad, we have extra time to file.

Yep! We did ours in March and just got our refund last week! So nice to get money back.

@MamaMoose: i know! it would be nice just to have it all over and done with but it never happens.

We did ours in February. We owed money to the feds and got a little back from the state. If it wasn't for the student loan interest I paid, we would've owed a lot more money. Can't wait until next year when we have a dependent!

We did ours in February, too. We got a pretty big refund. Sadly, it's been spent, too. I wish it would have last a little longer.

Ugh. I'm going to have to get an extension because our Canadian filing isn't back yet, and I can't do our US filing until it is.

Filed a couple weeks ago and we were very close to a wash. We're getting an itty bitty refund.

We did ours in February. We got a refund, but only because of DH's grad schooling last year, our Tax lady told us that elsewise we were pretty on par with the taxes we were liable for and what we paid during the year!
I was happy to hear that we didn't give Uncle Sam an interest free loan!

no refund, but we owe 50% less than we did the year prior so it feels like a refund!

We're both accountants, so we file ours as soon as we can to get it out of the way. We got a refund this year but it wasn't huge. I'm a full time grad student now too, so next year's should be a lot better!

Our accountant wrapped everything up last week and sadly we owe money. I'm an independent consultant and only pay once a year. For 2012, I vow to do less work so I don't have to pay such a hefty tax bill again

Ours are done, and we owed a pretty penny... which is awesome when you're preparing for a baby!

Our taxes were done in January. Gotta love an accountant for a DH, and we used the refund for the food for our March wedding!

We filed in February and got a sizeable refund - which prompted me to change our withholdings. We paid off our credit card....

We had ours done in February and came out with a $5 refund which I'm super happy about. I like that we have our withholdings set to the proper amount so we can budget accordingly.

Our accountant finished up the day before tax day (!!!) and he and we both were really surprised to find that we are getting a return!! Since I was on unemployment two years ago we owed quite a bit last year... this past year I became a contractor so we were expecting to owe again. So glad we don't.

My husband and I are both accountants (although neither of us does taxes, my husband works in audit and I work for a hedge fund), so we did our taxes one evening shortly after we got all our forms back in early February.
We over-deduct so we get a nice little refund every year, I don't care if they say its an interest-free loan to Uncle Sam, I think we'd only earn $10 on that money if we had it sitting in savings and this way I'm not tempted to spend it.

For all you accountants out there what is the best way to claim as married filing jointly?! I feel like when you make equivalent wages you get screwed!

We had them done last month. Big refund this year!
